The bingo night at the Horseshoe was a celestial spectacle, transcending mere entertainment to become an immersive odyssey of delight. From the moment I stepped into the venue, I was enveloped in a whirlwind of excitement and wonder. The ambiance was like stepping into a dreamscape, with twinkling lights, vibrant colors, and the hum of anticipation filling the air.
The staff were like magicians, orchestrating the evening with precision and grace, ensuring every guest felt like a VIP. Their warmth and hospitality created an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy, where strangers became friends united by the thrill of the game.
And oh, the games themselves! Each round was a voyage of discovery, as we eagerly awaited the next number to be called. The tension mounted with each drawn ball, until finally, someone shouted "Bingo!" and the room erupted in cheers and applause.
But it wasn't just the games that dazzled; it was the prizes. They weren't just rewards; they were treasures beyond imagination, each one more coveted than the last. From luxurious getaways to exotic destinations to dazzling cash prizes, the offerings were fit for royalty.
In every way, the bingo night at the Horseshoe was a transcendent experience, a symphony of sights, sounds, and sensations that left me breathless with wonder. It was an evening so extraordinary, so out of this world, that it defies description. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would in...
Read moreI live over 500 miles away in the spectacular Highlands of Scotland. Village, town and city pubs don't exist like in England.
Whenever I drive down here visiting family, relatives and friends, I make a point of visiting the Horseshoe pub in Downend, Bristol.
The experience is always the same. Convivial atmosphere, lovely, attentive staff, comfortable seating arrangements and great food.
There's a wide choice on the menu. The portions are more than adequate for even the ravenous of eaters.
The bar offers plenty of beers, ales, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.
Last week when a group of four of us enjoyed a hearty lunch, Beth, Doug, Willow, Hayden and Charlie were on duty.
They were all charming, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We didn't have to request anything because our individual needs were anticipated.
Without exception, each of them was a credit to your pub, exemplars, who would inspire many in this challenging sector. They are clearly well-trained and enjoy their demanding work. Even at the busiest of times, they remain unflustered.
Unlike many establishments in so many sectors, service was provided with a smile, not a snarl. Glasses and cups were handled correctly without touching the rims.
There was no screeching musak preventing us from having a chat during our meal.
Competitively priced. In fact great value for money.
Most highly...
Read moreI ordered the plant burger which was supposed to come with fries and onion rings according to the menu but it came without these and only with chunky chips (which I hate). When I had gone to the till to order she asked if I wanted it vegan. I asked what the difference was and she said just the cheese is changed. I asked her if this meant the fries and onion rings still come with it and she said yes. So I went ahead and ordered. My presumption is that the fries and onion rings aren't vegan because of the coating and that's why they weren't on the plate but they quickly put it down without me realizing. My husband had fries so they clearly hadn't run out. This meant I essentially only had the burger for the best part of £15. I wouldn't mind but there was no check back so I ate some of my husband's food also, and went hungry. Staff need to learn their menu but also they need to ensure there's no issues with the food. People paying £15 for a meal these days it needs to be...
