Visited here on a Saturday night and the food was excellent! It was quite warm, which made it a little uncomfortable, but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Prices are on the more expensive side with main dishes £12+ (most around £15), so an expensive night for a family. We ordered 2x starter, 2x main, 2x desserts, 1 bottle of red wine, and 1 beer and our total bill was £90. We were also given free garlic dough balls whilst we waited for our starter (i think it happened to be a promotion that night), and i would thoroughly recommend them, they were delicious! Chocolate fudge cake was probably the only part that I wouldn't recommend - it was completely forgettable and I would even stretch as far as to say it seemed to be bought in. A real shame when everything else was so great 👍 My other half said that his Nutella calzone was easily the best dessert he's ever tasted though. Add to that, the really strong brand that has been developed for these businesses (the mill, il mulino, soon to be neighbours to piccolo). Decor is lovely and the staff are always so pleasant and helpful.
Today, we ventured for breakfast… I think a big challenge for restaurants to do simple things well. Il mulino lived up to the challenge and we really enjoyed it. Full English for me, eggs Benedict for her. Classic and almost perfectly done (black pudding over-seasoned).
Fully recommended for a chill night (or...
Read moreWe ate here last Monday with two good friends. It was quite a small but cosy restaurant. We all really enjoyed our food whi h was plentiful. We shared a garlic bread to start which was very light and very moorish. I could have had another, but unfortunately I wS I. The minority! I then had the Moules frites in a tomato and chilli sauce. I had a huge plateful and they were delicious. They came with chips (unfortunately the frozen variety) but I had to ask for bread tosoak up the delicious sauce, which was not too hot. My wife and friend really enjoyed the salmon and prawns on a creamy mashed potato and asparagus. While our other friend had the chicken, which she also enjoyed.
Only one of us had room for dessert which was Tiramasu and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We very much enjoyed our eating...
