The Mill — Restaurant in England

Practically the worse evening ever… After having a table booked for 8 we only go give 3 menus until they came to take our order, After this we ordered our 2nd round of drinks which took 25 minutes until I had to get up and ask for them. Then the waitress came over and started yapping on about how she is under staffed and she only has a budget for around 10 minutes, meanwhile I nearly fell asleep whilst getting the lecture. The main courses came out and my girlfriends Katsu chicken was pink!!! Like really bad. We alerted the yapping waitress who took it back and offered to take the price of the bill,(which was normal for such a massive health and satfey risk) Whilst the starters and mains the yapping waitress kept bumping into one of our 8 table guest which was very unprofessional… she also wanted us to grab plates from her while she was serving and didn’t clear away the empty glasses until we prompted her to… Come to the end of the wasted evening… we wanted to split the bill…. She had not taken off the price of the dangerous meal… so we had to point that out and ask for that to be taken off. After the bill was paid she insisted that we was 1p short. And wanted that before we left which I consider a insult after that S**T show of a evening. Wouldn’t ever recommend to anyone unless they like rude and disrespectful staff and...

The Mill doesn't really need my review - it has a local and regional following of inovation and friendliness. It was one of the first, that I'm aware of, to impliment QR code scanning on tables during lockdown to create a simple menu / ordering service when you weren't allowed to approach the deadly bar, for example.

The food - it's pretty consistently good. I think the menu could be... posher. Is that a ridiculous thing to write? It's trying to be posh-ish and also understated in other places. I think there's room to really make the menu rather special. But what's on there - every item is delicious. The service is generally where it stands above the rest - so friendly and consistent. (On our last family visit the kids food was accidentally not submitted to the kitchen which wasn't great, but you have to respect a staff member who comes to your table to say "this is my fault" and explain how they'll make it better.)

I hope Alex treats his staff as well as it appears to the public. They deserve every bit of respect and every penny (and probably more) than...

Had a fantastic meal at the mill today. the food was amazing service was outstanding from start to finish. Very accommodating with the food I asked cheese burger nachos but wanted the teeside resturant week menu (it was only on the main menu) they said no problem gave me the option for a smaller portion of it as its quite large and it still be the set price or pay the difference for a full portion. Food was fantastic we all had a mix of food and everyone loved it. Our 2 year old had fish fingers off the kids menu and a very good potion came out he loved it and got a 3 scoop Ice cream in with the price. Again that went down a treat. The waiter who I wish I got the name for was outstanding seemed to love his job, extremely warm and friendly. Very good with our 2 year old who had a little tantrum and wanted his attention every time he saw him. Made the visit there feel family oriented and friendly Overall amazing we will be coming back again very soon...
