Extremely disappointed, after reading the reviews we were really excited to try this place. It started when we called to book a table and was told to wait a minute, after waiting for 15 minutes hearing everything happening in the back ground I was fairly sure the guy forgot I was on the phone so after 22 minutes I gave up, luckily my Mrs managed to book a table.
I understand that many things have changed in the world but ensuring that food services are completely up to standard for Covid safety sure be a priority, luckily the waiters were hot on this with face masks covering their chins...
After sitting down and ordering drinks I was convinced again that we were forgotten about as it took them 40 minutes to come and take our order which was perfectly timed as we were just about to call it a day and leave. Despite the extremely bad service up to this point, we were kind of glad we stayed as the food was really good, couldn't fault it at all, again the Covid safety practices where nowhere to be seen, faces masks not covering anything but chins and plates still being carried by arms and hands instead of the trays as instructed by the Covid safe code of practice, but again food was delicious. After finishing we were handed desert menus and again 25 minutes before someone actually came to take our order, in some cases I do understand if it is busy but rather than taking our orders the waiters were cleaning tables or even just some acknowledgement while walking passed us as we generally felt as though we were forgotten.
It then finished with being told despite waiting for 25 minutes to take our order then coming back 10 minutes later saying they actually don't have any deserts left, which in its self was a disappointment as the food was keeping the night together, we then asked for the bill and on paying for the bill the waiter positioned directly next to me with the amazing chin masks tells me that there is a 20% service charge when the menus and our bill actually says "No service charge" but turns out he was asking if I want to pay for service charge which in its self is awkward saying No which appeared to be the same experience I saw a few customers having. Although the food was good don't think we...
Read moreThe pizza was absolutely amazing, the risotto was on the opposite end of the scale, was made with long grain rice and was pretty mushy. The latte wasn't the best.
The interior of the restaurant is lovely unfortunately the ambience was ruined by the dated, and very loud, Italian pop music which was playing - Eros Ramazzotti was about the best artist on the play list.
If you are considering this restaurant, give it a go - your experience might be better than mine was. I went in for lunch, the restaurant was deserted but started filling up about half an hour in. The service was polite and professional. All in all it wasn't the worst experience I've had in restaurants around these parts, but it could use a little work. I would visit again...
Read moreWent for the first time last week. We had a show at the Palace theatre which started at 8 so they recommended we booked for 6pm. This turned out to be perfect as nothing worse than having to rush dinner before a show. 3 of the 4 of us ordered the bream chefs special and I had the chicken arrabiata. Fish was reported to be excellent and moist, in a good way. My chicken was tender and the sauce was quite hot which suited my taste. Only negative to report was the Pinot my wife ordered wasn't up to much but they replaced this with something else, think it was a savignon blanc but not sure. All told the 3 courses came in at £70 A couple which felt about right. Best meal we have had out for a while and will...
