Tried this place for the first time on our first trip to Bridlington.
It's a very dated but nice building and it shows when there was rain like today.
We waited for half an hour for a free table, no member of staff spoke to us. Was raining heavily outside and there were buckets placed literally everywhere collecting water from where ceiling was leaking in many many different areas.
After trying and eventually managing to get ourselves a table after 30 mins which was dirty, sticky, had no main menu and the only available condiment was an all but empty dirty stained salt pot, I cleaned the table myself and aprehensively ordered my wife and I a burger meal and soft drink each which when it arrived a little over 40 minutes later was surprisingly nice, the negative being I found the price to be absolutely astronomical at coming to £39 for 2 burgers, including a small handful of chips, portion of coleslaw and a soft drink each.
I have only given the food a mark out of 3 stars, not as a reflection on the taste of the food which was nice but the very high price I was charged for it.
At no point in my nearly 1 and a half hour experience in here did I see any members of staff clean any tables, it seems thats the customers responsibility to clean up after whoever was sitting at the table previously.
Some people may be also put off they're meal by barking dogs too, I'm.guessing this place is dog friendly and no matter where you were sit in here id imagine you'll hear them.
Sorry but can't recommend this place, needs to be a lot cleaner, at least some or any recognition from any member of staff would be an improvement and mainly the very overpriced food, that's eventually served...
Read moreArrived at 5.15 pm, ordered a beer n a cupper. As I needed a plant based milk I was told to " go to the cafe, for that" they were not busy and could of easily got it for us. On entering the cafe I asked about vegan cakes as there were so many cakes on offer. When i asked the young girl she said " I don't think so". I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. As it was served a small biscuit was placed on the saucer. When I asked if it was vegan, one said " I don't know" another lady said we'd have to look on the box, when the box couldn't be found I just asked them to take it off. Once seated, as there were alot of dirty tables, we enjoyed the sea view, not the scaffolding to the left!!!, however the relaxation was disrupted by one of the members of staffs children constantly paddling, crying for her Mum, while her mum was serving customers. My hubby needed the bathroom and found ONE toilet in use!!! Dirty, smelly , awful, staff were using this also. A long review, but it would appear this place needs to pull up its pants and get into this century as far as dietary needs, cleanliness and professionalism. A place where we have always gone when visiting Bridlington. ...
Read moreWe walked past this place on our first weekend in Bridlington and it was packed so we decided to give it a try midweek when it was quieter. The first table we stopped at, there was food all over the floor and the table hadn’t been cleaned so we found another. The second had bench seats and they were filthy, I’m still not sure why we didn’t walk out there and then, we really should have looking at my own picture I took of the seat as I write this review.
My wife had the vegetarian panini and I had the Mexican burger. The taste of our food really was excellent, I’m not kidding it was fantastic. Afterwards we had deserts which matched the mains for taste, spot on.
The staff are all young minimum wage workers who are pretty lazy. We asked for some condiments and we were pointed to where we could go and get our own. We watched the staff ignoring dirty tables and looking like they didn’t want to be there.
It’s a shame as this place could and should be 5 stars if it was just down to the quality of our meals. Five stars for the food, 2 stars for cleanliness and 3 stars...
