Very disappointed with what looked like a promising bar/restaurant. When greeted we were told about an hour wait for the food due to the amount of people in there at the time. We were fine with this and sat down. Ordered by the app as requested and the drinks turned up 5 minutes later. All good up until this point. Roughly 20 minutes later the food arrived at which point we thought great as we were expecting a longer wait. The food we ordered was quite basic food; fish and chips, kids sausage and beans and a chicken burger so not alot to get wrong... Or so we thought. Felt the chips, beans, sausage and chicken in the burger to which they were all stone cold. The only thing that was warmish at this point was a sausage. We were still waiting on fish and chips as they were still being cooked apparently but before the fish and chips came we sent the cold food back. It came back to our table around 5 minutes later and it was all luke warm at best. Fish and chips then arrived and the mushy peas were cold and no tartar sauce. Only eaten due to being hungry otherwise we would have left it. Would rather go to a weatherspoons than this place again! Only saving grace from a 1* is that the greeting person was very nice and polite.

Really lovely cast iron and glass building with a small (smoking) terrace outside. The Pavilion is a bar, but sells a small selection of meals including reasonable looking pizzas. There is also a Jerome's Ice Cream parlour at one end and lots of people were having ice-cream. It was quite busy when we visited early afternoon on a sunny Thursday afternoon in August. We initially sat at a table outside, but as non-smokers, this wasn't a pleasant experience despite the warm weather and brilliant view so we moved inside although it was busy and quite noisy. The selection of beers was limited with no cask ales or session beers other than John Smiths. The waiting staff were friendly, but obviously stretched and it took a while for our drinks to arrive. We had our drinks and quickly moved on. It was nice to see inside the building, but I'm not sure I'd visit again when it's quite so busy.

We were a party of 6, 4 adults and 2 children under 4. Food was lovely but service was very slow today, but there was a big party of people at one table so could have been just that they ordered before we did. Everyone we spoke to were lovely and polite. The downside we found was that it was not very disabled accessible (there may have been a way in easier but we may not have seen it). I did not see any disabled toilets and the ones we did see were down some stairs. We were there with a pushchair which we had to carry up and down stairs to get to a table. If there was an easier way for us to get in no one informed us of this. It was quite noisy with the music and we had to shout to one another to make ourselves be heard. Overall it's a lovely place but has a few down sides.

The food is average at best and because its on the front the prices are expensive. It's not the nicest of summers right now so even if you sit inside, with the huge doors open it's like sitting in a fridge. This means your food will be freezing cold before you've eaten it. Most of the menu is not available anyway. Don't bother asking the staff anything, most of them shouldn't even be working around people never mind kids. When we asked if they could close the doors one grunted at us they were not allowed to due to Covid, even though the day before they were closed. Ask another member of staff and you'll be told its because they never close the doors, ask another and you'll get another little story, did I mention we had been before and the doors were closed.

As my Nan would have said "it's all coat and no knickers". It looks good from the outside but you'll get better quality of food, and definitely service at a bad McDonald's.

Save yourself some money and find somewhere else to take the kids, or take a couple of quilts and order hot chocolate if you don't mind it being cold chocolate milk.

We didn't expect much and I don't normally write reviews but I'm hoping it'll save someone wasting their...

They lady who greeted us was nice and polite. That's as good as our visit got though. The tables were sticky and dirty. The premises were far too overcrowded considering we are in a pandemic, did not feel safe. The gin was watered down, ordered a pint of coke, it was sent out in a half pint glass, took it back, bar man said it WAS a pint. Then poured it into a glass which still wasn't a pint glass and it was only three quarters full. Chips came out stone cold, burger dry. Complained to a young chap who offered to warm it up, had already waited 40 minutes (although the lady at the front did warn us there would be a 30 minute wait- don't mind waiting if the food is nice!) so declined, as don't really consider sticking it in the microwave as a solution. The view was nice, and the place has lots of potential if it was cleaner and the food was edible. Perhaps if there were less things on the menu the chefs would be able to produce better meals if they didn't have to cook so many different things. Really disappointed and will not...
