What follows is the complaint submitted to KFC. Arrived at the drive thru que at about 2045 having just paid for full at sainsburys at 2041 I can be positive of the time. Car infront was kept waiting for some time when I pulled up to the speaker I was asked to wait on a number of occasions and must have been between 10 and 15 minutes before being able to place an order looked at the vehicle clock on two occasions before ordering noting both 2055 and 2057 passing before I was further spoken to. I tried to order a zinger burger meal, I was asked in I wanted to have the box or just the meal I believe is the way it was put to me. I acknowledged opting for the box meal which was quickly followed up with the only side we have is coleslaw. At which I said in that case not the box meal as there were no other side options. I went on to add the boneless dippers sweet chill and bbq as I had seen them on your advertisement outside the store. Driving round to the last window I was instructed I was left wait for a further period of time while the you female staff member taking orders continued to take orders from other cars joining the que and engage in physical flirtation with the large male staff member who appeared to be cooking food. After some time the large male membe of staff who I can not identify by name as he refused to provide this knowing a complaint was going to be made came to the window to take payment. He had the wrong price and only had on my order the two portions of boneless bite at £4.98, knowing the meal was £7.99 it was clear a mistake had been make and I told him that wasn't what I had order. He became defensive and aggressive towards me telling it was all I'd ordered as he had heard the order I thought the young lady who took my order was wearing a headset so I fail to see how that could be true. With verbalise now raised and being exchanged he asked me who he thought I was talking to, it was at this point he rocked forward on to the balls of his feet rasing his hight gripping with both hands firmly the lower window of the drive thru are and tensing his facial muscles forming micro indicators of pre contact ques. All of which indicate that a subject is about to become violent. Thankfully there was the window preventing him from moving towards me as well as me being in the car if he reacted in this way to an average member of the public who was inside the restaurant without the ability to escape this could be very bad. As I am not doing to be intimidated by physical presence I continued to make it clear I wanted to complain and speak with his manager, he threatened not to serve me if I carried on. I made it clear I no longer intended to purchase food after being treated this way and wanted to know who he was so could complain. He then called his manager Elaine I believe was the name used who it turned out was less then 5 meters away round the corner where I find it impossible to believe she hadn't heard her member of staff shouting at me. Claiming to have been on the phone I wasted no more time found out this was the complaints procedure and left as it was clear there was no intention to try and rectify the mistake he admitted to during the heated exchange with me. The time I drove off was approximately 2110 to the male member of staff making a final sarcastic jib about thanking me for coming or some such comment in the hopes of provoking a further reaction.
Update (for those who read this far and for fairness): got a response to this email to KFC. It contained an apology, a promise of a £10 voucher and stated that they would pass the information along to the store manager. No I don't feel the outcome was particularly satisfactory and was very disappointed. Would not...
Read moreI've dined in and used the drive-thru here a fair few times. Every time I drive-thru I'm asked to go park up and wait for my food, even if I'm the only car there. Then the wait for food to actually come out to me is usually between 5-10 minutes, but once it was as long as 20 minutes on a not-busy period. Dining in is much worse, and I will never dine in again. I placed my order using the touchscreens - no paper in the printer so didn't get a receipt. Now for just this reason, I have my phone camera ready to take a picture of my order number, but it flashed up on the screen so fast, I wasn't able to take a snap. We picked the table service, took a number and sat down.
20 minutes later still no food, but at least 20 cars had been through the drive-thru lane. I approached the counter and politely asked if they had my order, and that I had been waiting for a while. A young woman responded to me very politely and apologised saying they had been told to prioritise the drive-thru, but she would personally prepare my order now. Within 1 minute she brought over our order and apologised politely once again.
Service would have been 1 star if it wasn't for the well mannered and professional young woman dealing with us the way she did, she single handedly improved the score by 2 stars, thank you to this woman. A credit to her upbringing and training. The service problems at this store are not due to the attitudes or work ethic of the staff, its clearly a management and...
Read moreDuring my last visit I used the drive-thru. I encountered a few issues that negatively impacted my experience. Firstly, it was difficult to find the entrance of the car park and it was not well sign posted, the main sign pointed in a completely different direction to the entrance. The text on the drive-thru menu was too small to read easily, so I had to park in the car park and look at the KFC website to see what was on offer. Upon entering the drive-thru the order taker seemed disinterested in taking my order and spent most of their time facing in the opposite direction. The order presenter then also seemed disinterested and spent most of their time talking to others rather than gathering my order. I was presented with a bag containing my order but was not told if there was anything else so had to check myself, the presenter walked off. I was not given any napkins, or spoons/forks for baked beans. The fries were not salted/no salt was given. One of my "krushems" was well below the fill line and to top it off, the box containing my "boneless banquet" burst open from the bottom onto my lap and car seat when I lifted it out of the bag. The chicken was very nice as I remembered from previous visit to KFCs, however the rest of the experience was dire, and management should really look at addressing all of the issues mentioned, as service is...
