Not been here for a while and this will be the last time I go back. Until today we've never had a bad meal. I ordered the ' the full monty mixed grill' and my partner had sliders; the food didn't take too long to come out, the first thing I noticed was the colour of the steak, it had no colour to it whatsoever, it was grey with some scorch marks on it, I cut into it and it was cooked to my liking but it had a very strange taste and smell to it, the waitress was very apologetic and offered me another one or a dessert, I decided to have another steak. This time the steak had a bit more colour to it. And looked promising but again it had a very strange taste and smell to it, once again the waitress was very apologetic and asked if I wanted a replacement meal but I declined as I had plenty of food on my plate and I didn't want to be awkward as they were very accommodating. The rest of the meat on the plate had the same taste and was very dry so it tells me that they don't clean the grills very often because everything tasted strange, I ended up only eating the chips tomato and egg all the meat was left. It wasn't just my meal that tasted funny but also my partners burger had that same taste and that was also wasted. Its such a shame because we've never had a bad meal before but this was enough for us to say never again. On a positive note all the staff who we had contact with were very polite and friendly thats why 2...

We decided to go to the Talbot inn with our 10 month old daughter for some food as we have been there before and the food was okay, however this wasn’t the case this time. We arrived and it was pretty empty which we were surprised at, not many people in the pub at all, we ordered food and drinks and they handed us a coke which was pretty much see through due to the syrup needing to be changed, so we took it back and it was replaced 5-10 minutes later. People who arrived AFTER us were served their food first even though there was a lot more food being brought out for them. We waited over 50 minutes for our food to come, I ordered my steak a medium-well and it came out rock solid and near enough charcoaled. Our daughters chips were hard therefore she couldn’t eat them and my partners burger was near enough charcoaled too! It started getting busier as our daughter finished her meal so we went to ask for her pudding to be brought out but there was a long queue and only 1 person serving behind the bar, no other staff members were to be seen apart from a lady who seemed to be on her break, eating a pub meal with her phone on charge at one of the tables.

My partner was unable to finish his burger due to the quality and I left the majority of my steak, for both us of this is quite rare!

We were left unhappy with the service we received and quality of food that was...

Was there in July when a party of 18 went for lunch. Everything went smoothly, food was good and staff very pleasant. Took advantage of the Tuesday offer ìe two meals for £10.99 and some in group who had small appetites did in fact opt for the larger Kids Menu. I went for lunch with a friend on 14th Sept and first thing I noticed was prices were up - now £11.49 on two meal offer but not surprised as prices are increasing everywhere. Kids menus no longer printed out as other menu and drinks list but are on thin scrappy paper with activities on the back and presumably are just thrown away.I ordered Chicken New Yorker served with chips, peas, onion rings and tomato with BBQ sauce. It was very tasty but would have preferred triple cooked chips as we had in July rather than the thin frozen chips this time. Friend ordered Lasagne with salad and garlic bread . At £1.50 extra the garlic bread was NOT good value. It was two tiny triangles of bread with hardly any garlic butter and it was lukewarm. Even the server agreed with me that it was not good value for money! Would consider another visit but would choose day of visit more carefully and avoid expensive ...

Lovely food, very well priced on the Tuesday deal (you can find them on their website) £6 for half a roast chicken with choice of dip and two sides (I picked chips and tortilla wraps but salad, corn on the cob, and many more are available). The staff were friendly with all my interactions though limited as I used the app to order which worked well. I feel they should just give the final price on the menu within the app rather than applying the final offers and prices at the basket...mind you more of a Greene King issue than a pub one. What was a pub specific issue was it feels a little bit tired, cracked seats, smeary (kids) TV screens, slightly moist tables, buckets under urinals in the toilet, etc that indicate it could do with a refurb sooner rather than later! And I know it's cheap so you can't complain too much but other places can offer great value food and a tidy establishment too. 😋

Popped in on the off chance that we could get a last minute Sunday roast, as we hadn't booked. Staff were very friendly and had no problem accommodating us. There is a 'two roasts for £15.49' offer with the option of going large for an extra £2 each which we decided to go for. The portions were huge and neither of us could finish it all! Great value for money and we didn't have to wait very long for it to arrive either. We will definitely be returning as thoroughly enjoyed the food and our lovely waitress Stacey. We will also be returning at some point to try the curry and drink for £7 but will have to check which day it is on. One last point worth mentioning, there was free iced water that you can help yourself to, which we thought was a nice touch.

Very poor, dirty, sticky and best forgotten. If you have any sort of food allergy forget this place as they have no clue or concern. Yes they have an in depth A4 folder of all allergens but then go and toss everything into the same fryer so cross contamination is rife. This sort of establishment has no place on a modern high street. I seriously don't think it had had a proper clean in many a year. I spilt some apple juice out if a bottle as I could not bring myself to use the filthy glass I was handed, the upside is the apple juice brought up the table nicely removing with it several layers of grease and grime that had accumulated over many a sitting.
