Used the drive thru tonight. Staff sounded quite dismissive at the order point over the intercom when I asked them to clarify if all orders would take 20 minutes, it turned out it was just a 20 minute wait for chicken on the bone (quiet at 8pm and no cars ahead in the queue). Not fast food!
I proceeded to advise I had the KFC app on my phone and changed my order to only include boneless and burgers which included a deal on the app. On being curtly told to drive round, I arrived at the payment/collection window to be greated by another young person who after advising me of the price told me I should have advised her dismissive colleague that I had the offer on the app. I calmly advised that this did happen and she proceeded to amend my order without further communication then gave me the updated price.
After paying via card, I was handed our drinks and then from the food bagging area another young person with no communication came towards with one big bag of food. Passed it though the window and left without a word. We ordered 3 meals so was not sure if my order was complete and all in one bag as I'm not telepathic. After 4 or 5 attempts to get the young person's attention who was taking orders the other side of the window, they finally looked my way and after asking if my order was complete she confirmed. (there was one small piece of customer service at this point as she said sorry) referring to me having to ask after I pointed out her colleague handed me a bag with no communication what so ever.
So, with three orders placed in one large bag, I headed off home 10 miles away. To my surprise (not!) our boneless dipping banquet contained no dips.
Excellent!
I called the store and a young man answered the phone, no name or position divulged at this point. I explained my experience and was offered "dips next time you are at the store" my response was to explain that this was of no value as if I order a boneless dipping banquet again, it should come with dips!
I advised the young man that the main point of me providing feedback after he advised he was the shift manager, and after I asked him if he was or just happened to answer the phone, was for him to act on this and feedback to his team and store manager so that staff could be trained in customer service and basic communication skills.
The only saving grace is that my food was cooked well, even without having the benefit of dips to flavour my chicken.
As a matter of note we did not receive any condiments, no cutlery for the coleslaw, no napkins or wipes, nor given any opportunity to discuss if they...
Read moreMy Order was right on the drive thru screen, team member was lovely. Went home to find I received the wrong order so drove back. I didn't mind as I have worked in fast food before so I know its tough. And I went to the second window as I was told to do. I gave them my receipt and shown them what I ordered. She said OK we'll make some fresh for you but then I could hear the manager shout 'no pass it hear I want to see'. The manager took it out of sight and the team members started looking in her direction and smirking, the manager had handled my food and had clearly done something with it. She went up to me and said so what exactly is the problem. I said the food doesn't match the receipt and she didn't apologise just said 'right and'. If this is the hiring standards for being a manager at kfc then I'm already over qualified for actually having customer service skills. She took out the 1 chicken fillet and got 2 clearly fresh spicy wings and put then in my order as they should of done the first time, however she said they were already in so what's the problem. I didn't receive the corn on the cob, I didn't receive 2 spicy fillets just one silly chicken wing, I only got a small popcorn chicken so for all I know I could of got the wrong burger so I didn't open that. She didn't apologise once and was being abrupt, inconsiderate and rude. She chucked the medium popcorn chicken in the bag and threw the bag at me and slammed the window shut, she then said something to her coworkers as they all looked at her and started laughing. I thought this kind of thing only happens in America but it turns out the UK are full of those people. KFC, get your act together and retrain that manager from the bottom to see if she really is management material cos clearly she's faked something on her CV. I'm not even bothered by the food at this point, that manager needs to be fired...
Read moreGenuinely terrible.
We never expect much but visiting the KFC in Catterick Garrison is quite the most uniquely unpleasant experience I have had for many years. The staff are surly and borderline rude. The food is as it is in any other KFC but they never have everything we order since they'll always be deficient in something. Even if one streamlines an order to try to meet the inescapable shortfall and to minimise the inevitable disappointment, the staff will always find a way to mire themselves lower still in their collective inadequacy.
Before they reply about delivery difficulties with suppliers and chicken, we have just asked for chicken, chips, salt (to go on the chips), barbeque sauce, sweetcorn and Pepsi Max. They don't have sweetcorn, Pepsi max, barbeque sauce or salt. It's as if they just don't care...?
The inexorable and banal platitudes that tumble forth from the mouths of the staff here are simply the icing on the cake for the overall misery that is (trying to) dine at KFC in...
