Leila and the staff fabulous cant recomend this pub enough! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff who really go the extra mile. The food is absolutely fantastic – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was top-notch, and the portions were generous too. The drinks menu is equally impressive, with a great selection of beers on tap, creative cocktails, and a well-curated wine list. Everything felt thoughtfully chosen and reasonably priced. It’s rare to find a place that nails both food and drinks so perfectly, but this pub really delivers. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual pint, a hearty meal, or a night out with friends, it’s the perfect spot. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

Stayed in the premier inn, when working away near this pub, I’m from Essex and work London regularly all i can say is a lot of venues where i work, could learn a thing or two about service all staff are polite efficient and food was spot on every time highly recommend the wings £5.29 for ten, or 30 for £12.00 so tasty spot on, deals each night of the week great prices but spot on food 👌even when i had the curry deal (Wednesdays) that didn’t show on app when ordering for drink included with the deal only had To speak to manager and he dealt with the issue in a most professional manner. If you stay near this pub be silly not to sample the food and service 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌

I had Lunch with my partner in this Restaurant and the food is amazing especially the fish and chips. I ordered Fish & chips with the Sharers (ultimate Big Combo) is well cooked and fresh to our liking. The female staffs is very friendly and welcoming which helps us feel at ease especially for me as a 1st time ever had lunch in this restaurant. Lastly, Our Dessert is a amazingly delicious ( The ultimate Big Candymania) its a whopper big massive wine glasses layers of delicious chocolate ice-creams ,my partner happily surprise.

I feel like I'm always leaving negative reviews but this establishment was the worst ever that I and my family have ever eaten and that is saying alot considering the different places that we have tried. Having been to the brewers fair across the road with huge disappointment, for a birthday treat thought the foxglove would be a better improvement, ummmm nope sooo wrong. Will start with vista one, on my birthday, we attended the Thursday evening 8 of us, three babies, 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The cleanliness was appalling upon entry but busy so thought just a little behind so took a seat in a clean area. Menu seemed okay same as online, added offers that can appeal to a budget. We orderd starters, and requested it cam with the mains as with three babies didn't want to chance baby number 3 wanting bottle mid eating. The babies meals was a gluppy veg rice that was tastless, the corn looked like it had been heated over and over, so they didnt eat and was very bord. The Garlic bread was the majority orderd and I orderd garlic mushrooms on ciabbata, well the starters came in dribs and drabs massive gap till the mains, mine came out swimming in grease and when I say swimming it would have clogged my liver for years if I ate it, the garlic breads were burnt, so all the starters we left, mains then cralwed through and even worse, so gammon was pale like not cooked long enough, the burger was burnt to a crisp, the chicken burger again hard as nails, the sizzler chicken well what chicken that was there 6 tiny pieces was the final straw, burnt to a char and, sent the whole lot back, with the request of a manager. Manager listened to my advise of basic cookery, and then offered a full refund of meal, okay, a few minutes ate came back ro say that because we'd paid on app that we had to have a gift voucher, of half the value of the meal, considering a £100 bill to then get £50 back was a insult, but was assured there was no way of getting full refund due to app purchase. So left establishment with refund gift voucher having to return at some point to use it, which I was not happy about but the manager was convinced when we'd come back it would be a massive improvement. Ummmmm. 8 weeks later........... a date night for me and hubby and reluctantly I said let's use the voucher to foxglove......... arrived again appalling state of tables, food left on plates, not a good sign. But needed to use the voucher so prepared for what was to come. Orderd mixed grill and a veggie lasagne, extra chips. Cheese cake dessert and a apple and fruit crumble. The mixed grill was again half cooked, like the gammon last time, the lasagne was welded to the bottom of dish as they had microwaved it too long, wouldn't mind cold in the middle, chips some over cooked, but the puddings again a tipping point, so the cheese cake flavourless baring in mind a basic vanilla cheesecake, but the crumble ohhhhh noooo how can anyone mess up a crumble wow, frozen fruit in bottom of dish defrosted so imagine swimming defrosted fruit with a apple crumble thrown on top, the crumble like glup and the custard floating in juices of fruit, end result a swomp of mess that I wouldn't eat if u paid me and looked vile. Verdict, I could make miles better at home. Don't pay on the app and don't waste u time and money please, u really won't have a great time, and certainly won't enjoy a family evening. Go to tesco across the road and get a ready meal deal from there, or even better do a pizza party, with treats and alcohol, cheaper and u know what ur getting.

2 days after review going live. Also adding that though the response from greenkings regarding to review is to email directly, I did and never recived a response back....

Went to the foxglove yesterday evening with my friends and my partner. What a shocking experience. When we ordered a pitcher the glasses that we were handed had stains all over them, didn’t even look like they had been washed. He went back to ask for some cleaner ones and they were a lot better. The cutlery still had chunks of food on them, took ages to find a barely decent knife and fork. Ordered some of the festive starters, pigs in blankets. Well what can I say, the pigs in blankets were absolutely swimming in oil and the bacon was still oinking. Looked like they hadn’t even been cooked. The sausages had no colour on them at all and the pot of gravy that came with it was cold and the pot it came in looked like it had been taken off someone else’s plate and put onto mine. My partner ordered some mushroom starter and he said the taste was awful. And when we tried to order the main courses off the festive menu they had none of them, took 3 attempts to get a main course that they actually had in.

Then we waited 45 minutes for our main courses and when our friend went to ask why it was taking so long, they stated that the reason was because it takes 45 mins for the mains to come out from having the starters. Our friends didn’t even order starters and we paid separately, when they queried why they had been waiting over an hour and 10 mins the lady behind the bar stated it was because we had ordered starters even though they didn’t. It would have been nice if they stayed this when we ordered the food, but unfortunately we were never informed. So when people who came into the restaurant after us were getting their food before us, we were slightly confused. When we queried why it was taking so long to one of the waitresses she was quite rude. Me and my partner got our mains before our friends even though they didn’t order starters and they were still waiting 10-15mins after us for their mains. Not ideal when you have 2 children who were absolutely starving!!

My partner ordered a tandoori sizzler and my god, £14 for 3 pieces of chicken, 4 wraps and a whole onion and pepper with some wilted lettuce, is what he got. Not a good value for money! The portion size was atrocious! And to make matters worse, when my chicken tikka came out, the curry was luke warm and had like a layer of skin on the top as if it had been sitting there a while, the rice was piping hot but the plate was absolutely freezing!

Would not recommend the foxglove to anyone visiting the Garrison. It’s normally full of life and the atmosphere is good. But will not be going for food again. We have been a few times and the standard has been...

I'm in chronic pain The kids icecream let it down. We were st the in Darlington last Monday and my 7 yr old grandson Jake got loads more and he still got the cookie biscuits in it. When he never today. When I asked about it. I was told they no longer do it. As they think theres 2 much chocolate in them down. With there being chocolate sauce on it and the twix and smarties. He was rather disappointed. I 4 got I ordered my other grandson kye one. As he just ask 4 a vanilla one with no chocolate sauce on his. So they will remember my husband at the bar. My daughter ordered my grandsons. They said they wont be buying them again. My granddaughter has the chocolate pizza. After my husband paid 4 it. A member of staff came over and told us there was no strawberries left. So she had 2 pick between Maltesers are m&ms. So their wholesale deserts were a disaster. That's why I could only give it a 3. Now for my meal my egg wasnt cooked properly. I had 2 ask a member of staff 2 plz change it 4 me. Which they did. We dont normally have a problem. I'm not sure if we will be going back. There was 6 of us aswel. So it wasnt cheap 4 us. We came down from Newcastle 2 visit our daughter and grandkids. As we dont get 2 see them that often. As I'm disabled. I've also got a brain tumour and a heart murmur. I have fits. I suffer from depression panic attacks and anxiety disorder. I'm in chronic pain 24hours a day. So it was a massive thing 4 me 2 go out today. I wasnt even going 2 go. I had 2 use a manual wheelchair and not my electric wheelchair. So I had no independence. Staff were keep knocking me. Not once did they ever say sorry 2 me. I'm not sure I will be recommending yous 2 anyone after what happened today. I'm just glad it wasnt my 1st time there. The stuff were lovely in away. When we needed something they got us it. They asked us how our meal was.. so I'm really sorry I can only give yous 3-5. Last Monday at Darlington. I would of give them 5-5. But not this 1. The place was nice and clean. Kind...
