The Kings Head in Ulverston is a brilliant example of a traditional pub that knows how to make you feel welcome. From the moment we walked in, the landlord and staff were warm, chatty, and genuinely interested in making sure everyone was having a good time The beer selection is excellent — well-kept ales and lagers, and the team are happy to let you sample before you choose. The Thai food served here is a real surprise and absolutely delicious — the Tom Yum soup and Thai green curry are must-tries

There’s a pool table, jukebox, and a lovely beer garden where you can watch crown green bowling on sunny afternoons. It’s also dog-friendly, which is a big plus for us. Whether you’re stopping by for a pint, a bite to eat, or a relaxed evening with friends, this place delivers every time.

Last night it was like a worldwide government over-reaction to a global pandemic had never happened. Not a mask in sight, queues at the bar, mirth and merriment all around. As we learn to live with a virus for which every vulnerable person has been "vaccinated", it's nice to have our freedom back and The 'Little Kings' is just just the place to visit. The absolute warmest of welcomes, this is a proper pub with amazing hospitality. I came in somewhat bedraggled from a journey through storm Bert and they sorted me out with everything a person might need to recover.
