Been waiting ages to try this place & it's just wayyy over hyped, I'll stick to kebabish original and jaan's BBQ And kitchen in future as they're better curries and food with bigger portion sizes, just another place that charges a fortune for small portions as if they've reinvented curry and rice or something...went down to collect a large chicken karihi (that turned out I just paid extra for your usual sized plastic container of curry £10:99) with a load of oil on the top and rammed full of lumpy tomatoes (yet again making my already small/large portion of curry even less large, the curry was nothing special yet again, I also got a huge garlic naan that had loads of holes in it & really thin (again to give you the impression you're getting large when you're not!!) which was really greasy, a portion of onion bajis (just your usual ones but greasy & nothing special but the price £2:99) pilau rice again nothing pilau about it few herbs thrown in and a bit of colour but yet again £2:99 in a small plastic container...I usually order this exact order everywhere else I go & I was planning on saving my daughter half of this for when she comes in later on, looks like I'm going to have to cook something for her as I didn't fancy spending another £8:99 on an even smaller curry taking my spend upto very nearly £30... Don't get taken in by the hype if you're going in for a meal I can understand you'll probably not notice these things ie portion sizes etc but when you drive about 20 minutes to get there & then have to wait half an hour in the car outside there's absolutely no point, I feel robbed... As I said there's miles, better places than this who aren't greedy and all a put the money money money... I've had a look through the other reviews & it seems, I'm not the only one to complain about the portion sizes, I write this half an hour after spending over £20 & I'm...
Read moreExtremely bad management. Ordered Lebanese chops, 4 in a portion, there were five people in our group. Requested if they could do 5 in the portion, manager said NO using every foolish excuse that could possibly be thought of. He said they can only grill 4 at a time....What??? - If we wanted one more chop we would have to order one more portion at the cost of £9.99. Anyway, a bad start to the evening. When the Lebanese chop arrived, they were burnt to another level. I told the waiter, he said to take it up with the manager after the meal. Also, the king prawn lahori karahi was inedible, the prawns had pieces of shell stuck to them, when bitten it was like plastic, and they looked shriveled and ill. At the time of paying, we told the manager about the chops and the prawns, he retorted why did you not tell the waiter. We said, we did, and the advised to inform you. He called the waiter and investigated, basically told him off for not offering replacement. Conclusion was that he never offered any concession, no apology, demanded the money in full. I must say, this owner has forgotten his standards as well as his humble beginnings and seems to have grown an attitude. Last time ever we give business to him, not giving my money to an ungrateful human being. Advice - If you want to be served with dignity and respect there is a place up the road QADZ, go and give your hard earnt money to him. He is a gentleman and his food is way better than this lot by a...
Read moreI don't normally write reviews however these guys really deserved one today.
Have ate in the restaurant a few times previously, and thought the tawa was good. On this occasion i was ordering a take out and thought I'd order a curry from here as a change from the norm "kebabish".
Picked up a lamb karahi which I must say tasted good however the amount of meat in the portion was an absolute joke. It could quite easily have passed as a vegetarian dish due to the lack of meat. I've had many a lamb curry from many restaurants so I am well aware of how much meat you get and I wasn't thinking there would be loads but this was ridiculous. There must have been about 4/5 tiny pieces of lamb. When I say tiny I mean a normal piece you would find in a curry cut into 2/3.
I would say it was easily a quarter of what you would get in the kebabish portion which I found was daylight robbery. Hence I took the liberty to call them to explain as I thought they may have been rushing and didn't realise (gave them benefit of doubt).
To my amasement the guy told me it wasn't a mistake and that was their normal portion size. He wasn't willing to apologise and clearly wasn't interested...
