Summary: very average, overpriced food and you can't guarantee you'll get everything you order!
Avoid this place if you expect to receive everything that you have ordered! Having ordered onion bhajis which were not fresh and very dense and two curries, we ordered a rice and a naan to share between them, half of each one we thought! When we came to our main, we discovered that the naan was left out of the bag. When we phoned them, they tried to give us a voucher for next time but as it was our first time and we were unimpressed with the food (a curry sold as hot for example had no heat whatsoever), we asked instead for our money back for the naan as we did not wish to use them again.
Instead of being concerned with our experience and the fact that we had bought two curries which now had to be eaten with just one rice, the chap on the phone huffed and puffed and kept telling us how busy he was. I have some sympathy for this but it also wasn't our problem. Our takeaway was ruined and he didn't seem concerned about this at all.
In the end, he agreed to returning our money (£3 for the naan) the following day. Rather foolishly, I expected him to send a little bit extra when their delivery driver arrived, for our troubles, the inconvenience and the fact that a £40 takeaway for two had been rather spoilt but we got £3 on the nose and not even an apology.
They don't get it .

Read moreI would give zero if I could. After 13 years of using the Sinbad in Rodbourne we thought we should try out some of the other Indian restaurants we had heard good things about. The Curry Pace is good. The Lalbagh is not. We ordered today and were told our online order would be 1 hour 15 minutes. It was an hour and a half - no biggie but the food was stone cold. The garlic naan had no garlic in it - it was literally half the size of naan bread from other restaurants and tasted of nothing. The pilau rice? - tasted of nothing. I had Chicken Tikka Bhuna - tasted of nothing much at all - no spicy taste, just a slight peppery taste. My wife had chicken tikka madras - no spices evident just a strong peppery taste this time. We had 8 pieces of chicken each - 4 of each were fine and tasted of chicken The other 4 each had a jelly like feel to them as you bit through it. I strongly suspect this was chicken with a lot of added water - at least, I hope that's what it was. The portions were small - this is the first time in memory I've still felt hungry after finishing an Indian meal, and I felt it was very poor value, especially as the Lalbagh is more expensive than other local restaurants. I very rarely can be bothered to write reviews but on this occasion I was so disappointed I felt I just had to. One thing is certain - I will NOT be returning to...
Read moreOkay, i ordered take away, so the atmosphere is n/a. We've eaten at Lalbagh in the distant past and can vouch for a really convivial atmosphere in the restaurant. I ordered takeaway on-line for the first time i think, and the process was very simple. Our order was delivered within the estimated time and the driver was lovely; courteous, friendly. Ive struggled to find a really good madras in Swindon recent years; there is a method with madras that can be achieved in a BIR, even with basic curry sauce, but only a few seem to be able to pull it off. Hand on heart, the chef that cooked my madras knows the method. This is the nicest madras ive tasted in years. I feel so happy, that ive found a good place for madras; so i will be ordering again. Thank...
