PizzaExpress — Restaurant in England

It’s not the first time we’ve been to this branch and left disappointed (speed and accuracy of order have been a problem on almost every visit) but today’s trip was unfortunately the worst.

There was a very long wait on food with no prior warning. We were initially served the wrong dough balls which was spotted by staff several minutes after (we realised it wasn’t our order and tried to alert staff) and the order that had been sat on our table was then re-delivered to another table and we received ours direct from the kitchen.

We had asked for water and were given a jug with no glasses. We had to ask two different staff members to get glasses. We weren’t offered another opportunity to order any other drinks.

The waitress let us know after about 35-40 minutes waiting for main courses that they had a backlog of orders, we wouldn’t have ordered knowing this. Approximately 45 minutes after ordering our food arrived. My partners was burnt so he sent it back immediately, he was offered a replacement but he didn’t want to wait again. I ate a couple of slices of the pizza I ordered and it was extremely over seasoned with black pepper and salt. After two slices I couldn’t eat anymore. When the waitress came to collect our plates I let her know and she offered a box to take it home, as it wasn’t really edible I declined. She told me it was meant to be spicy. The problem wasn’t that it was too spicy, it was the black pepper and salt. She went to speak to the manager. The manager was very apologetic, and dealt with the situation well. He took the pizza away and gave us the remainder of our bill on the house. However, we were then left with no more service. Our daughter was crying as her meal comes with dessert (which she had already picked at the start) and it didn’t look like we would be receiving any more service. We left and went elsewhere.

Food was excellent!! Would definitely go back again. Also they were very kind and patient with my three year old grandson, so very child friendly!!

Everything was very clean, and I was very impressed how clean the toilets were and the baby change in which my son took my grandson to change his nappy!!!

The area in which the Restaurant lies is a really lovely place, a large and modern open square with lots of different Restaurants, and facing the magnificent Worcester Cathedral!!

The bells were being played beautifully as we approached the area, making it easy to find the Cathedral square.

All in all everything contributed to a very successful and wonderful day out.

I really appreciated this as I hadn't been able to get together with my youngest son & his family since even before Covid Lockdown due to my husband being ill.

Therefore, it was also the first time I had ever met my 3 year old grandson in person!!!

So ASK ITALIAN definitely made our day memorable!! Our thanks to the wonderful Manager, waiting staff and excellent chefs!!

The Manager was also very helpful advising me with the VEGAN MENU and said he had personal experience of Vegan food.

We had such a fantastic experience at Pizza Express in the Swindon Designer Outlet on Sunday! Even though we usually prefer to book ahead to secure a table, especially during busy times, we couldn’t because of a Lego event. Despite this, we only waited about 20 minutes, which flew by considering how packed it was at lunchtime.

Once seated, we were greeted by an incredibly friendly server who not only made sure we were comfortable but also took the time to explain how to use the app for ease of ordering. The atmosphere was brilliant—bustling but not overwhelming, and it added to the overall charm of the place. The food came out quickly and was delicious as always.

We did notice an older couple nearby who seemed upset about a minor issue with us getting some dough balls before them and we felt for the server who was attending to them and resolving this. They were pointing at us which we felt was quite rude to the server as food comes out when it’s ready, but honestly, our experience was flawless, and it’s clear the team works hard to deliver. Every time we visit this Pizza Express, it’s a highlight of our shopping day, and the staff and food quality never disappoint. We’ll definitely be back, and this will always be our go-to stop...
