Homeless person still living in a tent. All the ground around there burnt from fires and strewn with rubbish from them and God knows where they relieve themselves as there is no public ammeneties. And it's so close to where you walk with the kids. Lots of dog poo as well which is a shame considering there is lots of dog poo bins about. Would have liked to sit down but all the benches were occupied by people obviously drunk.. of various ages and cleanliness shouting and throwing empty cans around. 3 different trees we're being watered by various drunks which is thoughtful but not needed.. Certainly by my innocent children trying to cycle past scared stiff. Apart from that it's a lovely park. Just a shame it's abused and not...

A nice open space consisting of a large field, bigger than your average football pitch, encircled by a footpath and surrounded by trees of varying species. There are planted areas and some nice decorative features, such as a locomotive chassis (heralding Swindon's railway history and the fact that the park belongs to GWR) and fallen trees etc. There's also a neat little children's play area. The Park was recently given an overhaul, thanks to lottery money, which included a relaid footpath and the re-erection of perimeter railings which had been dismantled during wartime for scrap metal. Check out the massive weeping willow tree that dominates the eastern side of the park and is a truly magnificent sight...
Read moreA great bit of open space for the town centre community to access. The park is walled, so you dont take much notice of the heavy traffic on two sides. Limited facilities include litter bins and a tarmac path that leads right the way around the park. This makes an ideal loop for dog walkers, kids learning to ride bike and easy access for mobility aids. There's usually a couple of games of cricket being played families picnicking. There is a small play park for young children. The toilets are now sadly closed but the Outlet is only a short walk if you require...
