Legra Tap & Kitchen — Restaurant in England

My partner and I came to Legra looking for small bites as we werent too hungry.

We decided to share korean tacos that came with fries and we also ordered cheesy taquitos.

Staff were friendly, we did notice some attentiveness needed to improve as no menu was provided to us, (we had to search for our own) and we had to ask for side plates twice despite there were barely any people in the place. As mentioned though staff were friendly and that bit wasnt much of an issue for us, however I do mention this here as im trying to provide an honest review.

Now the important bit, the cheesy taquitos were alright, the salsa provided with them is bad though..

It clearly has been bought from the supermarket, tasted kind of like the old el paso ones that you can buy everywhere. Fresh salsa is quite easy to make and its not time consuming therefore im not sure why fake salsa is served to the public.

Its clear the fries are also not fresh, meaning theyre frozen fries however they tasted alright and most establishments unfortunately do this so it wasnt a surprise, my issue was they were extremely salty. My partner and i had to shake em a bit to remove some salt before eating them.

The main dish was the korean tacos and they were unedible.

They were extremely salty, I normally like korean styled tacos but I could only take 2 bites of this one and had to leave the rest, my partner did the same..

While the sides were finished the main plate was almost untouched.

All in all id give this place a 2.5 stars and unfortunately wont...

My first visit was on the 8/6/22 and we were able to be served at the bar by a polite young male. After some friends joined us we sat down and was served again by another male, mid length hair who was very attentive and couldn’t fault the service. However after our recent visit this evening we were left shocked. We wasn’t greeted as we were the previous night and told it wasn’t bar service, but instead table service. Okay, fair enough. This wasn’t the warm welcome we had previously received but yet seemed to be a quick brush off. We then watched around the bar as other customers were being served and again got up and asked if someone would come over to take our order after 20 minutes. The member of team who didn’t look up said ‘be over in a minute’. We then waited a further 10 minutes but to our surprise we saw her serve other customers who only just got there. We left and again, no sorry or concern. I understand this is a new buisness/venue and know how chaotic it can be (I’ve experienced this myself in this industry) but at least a quick acknowledgment of us and to say ‘we’ll be with you as soon as we can’ would have really been appreciated. Shocking experience - ordered lunch, ORDER WAS TAKEN only to be told 10 minutes later that we'd have to wait at least an hour for food!! Service was abysmal, confrontational and very rude. If your open from 12pm perhaps you need to think about serving food before 3pm...what a joke!!! The response from the owner is poor...I came the previous day to when I left my initial review and oddly, ordered food for lunch at 1pm & it turned up 10 minutes later. If you're relying on customers to look at your website for the oddities about when you decide to serve food, then make sure it's consistent. And BTW I have never come across ANY restaurant, pub or cafe that makes a decision to serve lunch after lunchtime at 3pm, let along the appalling way we were spoken to by your staff!!! Southend and Leigh are fully of good places to eat, where not only do they serve lunch AT LUNCHTIME, but they make sure their staff are trained approoriate to do their jobs...so we'll be eating in these places, and not Legra Tap (and so...
