It was a cold Sunday afternoon and my mother's 90th birthday, a table for twelve had been reserved for four o'clock, which very soon turned into a party of fifteen. The staff took it all in their stride without fuss or complaint and found extra seating to accommodate us. The restaurant was very busy and offered a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My mum was overwhelmed at the surprise of seeing her two brothers and their wives along with her niece and her husband and great grandchildren, myself, my wife, my sister-in-law and her daughter and son-in-law. The menu offered a variety of different dishes to suit all tastes and included dishes suitable for celiacs. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I chose a delicious piece of calves liver with black pudding and bubble and squeak. I have nothing but admiration for the whole team who were friendly efficient and polite. Incidentally we were the last to leave at seven o'clock. Highly recommended. Great...

Food was quite nice. My husband had prawn and calamari to start which was adequate. Then we had the liver and the beef Wellington for mains. Both cooked very well, which we were pleasantly surprised by. Dessert, I had cherry bakewell tart, which had no cherries in. It was nice tasting though.
We found an excellent red wine on the list and at a reasonable price.
Would we visit again? Maybe but not soon as there are lots of other restaurants which are nearer and do it...

The menu was was interesting and our waitress took our order. Our waitress was very attentive and came across well. We both had white bait to start which I found disappointing. The fish were overcooked and very large for white bait. My main course of slow cooked belly pork was a little on the dry side but still enjoyable. We decided against having s sweet. The price was reasonable and we will go back again in the future. We found the restaurant to be quite noisy. The general service was very good with waiting cut...
