Macready's — Restaurant in England

Looks like we must have had an off-night. The atmosphere and surroundings were wonderful. Having moved to the area a year ago and been recommended to come here, we finally got around to it. Very attentive staff, even the ones who were evidently less experienced were equally as attentive and did their upmost to ensure a nice dining experience. I must say though, having seen other reviews, and the recommendations we had about the place, the food did not live up to standards. Possibly a different chef, I don’t know. The assortment of breads and scallops were excellent; it was nice to see them served with the roe which isn’t a given at all restaurants. The catch of the day, although presented well, wasn’t ‘right’ in taste at all or particularly well cooked. I’d hasten a guess that it wasn’t caught that day. My partners chicken, similarly presented well, was also dry and the rice that it came with was incredibly oily, even I couldn’t eat it. Macready's: An Unforgettable Anniversary Celebration 🎉

My fiancé and I had an incredible anniversary dinner at Macready's. The staff were exceptional, particularly Eliza (I hope we have spelt her name right!), whose care and good humor made our evening even more special.

Myself and my fiancé exchanged anniversary cards during our meal, and Eliza surprised us with a beautiful "Happy Anniversary" message on our dessert without us ever mentioning the occasion! Props to her attention to detail and initiative!

The food was truly outstanding. I was full halfway through the second course, but it was so delicious I couldn't stop eating! The music playlist was perfect, and the interior design was stunning. The attention to detail was impressive, and the restrooms were uniquely designed.

I highly recommend Macready's. It's the best restaurant I've been to in ages, and I eat out a lot...

We had lunch at this restaurant as a group of three and were quite disappointed with our experience. While the staff were attentive, the overall presentation of the food left much to be desired. The salad served with the crab was overly basic, consisting only of leaves, a strip of carrot, and radish dropped into a bowl with no presentation or finesse. Additionally, the sourdough bread served with the crab did not complement the delicate flavors well; a plain brown bread or soda bread would have been a better choice. The chicken supreme dish was subpar, with fibrous, possibly pre-frozen meat. How easy is it to serve fresh chicken these days?! Overall, the quality of the food was mediocre, and we left feeling...
