Used to order a Turkish meal here for the family regularly, but stopped after the recent price hikes ( some family meals went up by 20 quid). My wife even rang them to check when we saw the 20 quid increase as we thought it had to be an error! Have eaten in and got takeaway many times. The food can be very good here, but unfortunately the bizarre attitude of staff and new joke prices outeweigh the positive. They are very inflexible, for example, insist you have one chilli and one garlic sauce, won't let you have two garlic and make you pay extra. If you suggest you want chips instead of rice / cous cous you are treated with contempt.. and of course can't swap and made to pay extra. The salad you get with a meal either in the restaurant or with a takeaway is a joke, although generally not as good meat quality wise, they should walk over the road to turkesh best kebab and take a look at the salad offering, it embaresses Mangal Meze. The staff that run the place seem to have the attitude that they are doing you a favor opening and being willing to serve you, rather than realising people have hundreds of places to eat at/from and are doing so less as times are tight. Don't think I have ever seen a bigger disparity between the quality of a places food (pretty good) and the service/attitude (awful/offputting) in my 10 + years living in Grays. Read moreOrdered for a special occasion via Uber Eats and it took two hours for it to arrive. The order had stated that it was already on its way to me but I called after the first hour and they told me that the food was still on the grill and that it was going to be ready in two minutes. Finally arrived a hour, despite the restaurant being an 10 minute drive from my house, after that and when it did arrive, it was the wrong order. I called back and he said “we’re really busy. I know you so, next time I’ll give you extra chips”. I don’t know them, it’s the first (and last) time I ordered from here. He then said “What do you want me to about it? Send you a new order - you’ll be waiting for two hours again”. No apology or willingness to rectify, just a rush to get me off the phone.
On top of that, the delivery driver decided to continue banging on the door like a bailiff after I had told him I’m coming to the door via my ring doorbell. (Mobility is reduced at the moment).
Overall, would not recommend unless you want to receive food different from what you ordered and fancy speaking with sarcastic, rude restaurant owners with no desire to cater to...
Read moreI went today for a dinner with my mom and my daughter and while my daughter was eating, she saw a small dark hair in one of the meets. I straight away put it on a napkin as I felt completely discussed that my 3 year old daughter almost ate that, and I took it to the chef to so they’re more careful for next time. One of them he apologised and offered a replacement of that meat, but as it seemed his boss didn’t let him to give a replacement and he charged me fully as well. I did mention that I’ll report the incident to the council for poor hygiene not so much for the hair that my 3 year old daughter almost ate, but the costumer service and the attitude of the boss accusing that i did put the hair on the lamp chop made me feel even more sick and disgusted of that place. My husband eventually paid the bill to avoid the argument but no one of my family and friends will ever go and support that horrible man’s business anymore.
