Disgusting attitude of staff, booked table for 15 people, had Extra person in the group and it included 4 children so a total of 16 present. When we got there the tables seemed a bit congested so we requested a small group to sit on a table right next to us. They were going to or did a join a small table at the end but it was too warm and the masala they were using was strong so we were all just wanting a bit of space. A staff member came to us and appeared very angry and disrespectful. He came again and said to our family on that table you have to pay separately and his tone was unacceptable. Another member of family went to him and interjected his rudeness. The manager came who then Instead of diffusing the situation made it even worse. We explained we just want an additional table as it is too hot, we are a large group and we prefer if the table is available to just split it slightly - nd we learned the table was not even reserved. The fuss was a bit dramatic and the staff response was almost like a gang ganging up on our family because we complained about the rudeness of a staff member. Pathetic. At the end they agreed that we could split the table the way we wanted indicating it was not reserved, the fuss was a pointless fuss, it seems they all need training about how to deal with customers with respect. We left the restaurant because we did not feel we would enjoy our dinner there at the end. A serious let down and their arrogance of losing a business of 16 people meal was even worse. Such businesses deserve a 0 star. I know they will give a lousy reply about how wonderful they were and dampen down their bit of starting a very rude conversation and tone - regardless this is bound to make sure they treat people with respect not numbers they count for...
Read moreIf you are English and want 'english' indian food, then the food us ok!!! (or there is a good kebab takeaway opposite) But if you appreciate indian food with real Indian flavors then go elsewhere. Asked how the biryani was made? Was it made with saffron? the reply give "its made with rice!!!!!" (Think that should have been the alarm bell) We ordered a veg curry that arrived cold and tasteless (see photo) asked for it to be taken away as was cold and not my taste!!! The manager thought it was right to laugh at me and said "that's how it is served" walked away (with the veg curry) 'sneering' !!!!! The keema nan arrived with a lump of 'keema' tucked into one end, the other 2 dishes just tasted of coconut, the Pudina Dahi and Aam ki chutney was equally tastless, sadly for us it was all very bland and English tasting. We did not complain about the food because the English holiday makers were eating it. What we made comment about was the veg curry was cold and sadly for us it was not to our taste or liking. I really appreciate that places like this think holiday makers are just till fodder, and there is always more waiting round the corner. But!!!! Sometimes someone just want what is advertised and really does know what they are...
Read moreFirstly. I have read a lot of the reviews on here. Some verging on a racist slant. Customers can be of any colour or creed. We are on the Isle of Wight which is mainly ‘white folk’. I have eaten curries from brick lane, Bangalore through Bangladesh/Daka. The worst curry I ever had was in Bangalore. EVER. Also most intelligent people know that an ‘Indian’ restaurant will have Bangladeshi cooks. We won’t go in to the history of it. However the food here is always good. The staff are nice and if you go anywhere during summer season the staff will be rushed and perhaps not as on the ball/polite as they could be.
I have eaten here 5 times whilst visiting family and this is the go to Indian for us. Not had one bad meal the people are friendly. Reasonably priced too. Come and visit with an open mind and enjoy a nice curry.
We really like it. Not bland at all is ‘white roll’...
