I have never left a bad review before but I feel as though that I should inform other people that will come here in the future. First of all, we arrived at the Marsh and Barrel 30 minutes before our reservation date (at 1pm on a Sunday) and we were still given a lovey warm welcome. We were a family of 6 with a bigger dog so we had to sit near the window area of the restaurant.
We all ordered Sunday roast (with one of us ordering a vegetarian option). However, we all feel as though it was not worth the value at all. It was around £13 for an adults meal and around £8 for a children’s meal. To be completely honest there was not much difference in size between the two unless you paid around £15 for a king size (you get around 2-3 extra slices of meat). What was the most disappointing part of the experience was that we had to pay extra for parsnips, pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese (around £2-£4 extra)!
As we were at the height of excitement looking at the delicious food upon our table, we were met with an appalling taste in our mouths. I thought that they were undercooked but another person might say that they prefer crunchy carrots and broccoli.
Overall, I would recommend the children’s swamp drink but not the roast dinner. They do add fresh, hot food about every so often so I would recommend if you wait until fresh food comes out in the carvery bit of...

It’s… clean. And to their credit the staff are absolutely lovely.
But for what you pay here for bottom of the barrel, cheap, commodity food and the tiny cups of machine dispensed coffee I could go to central London and eat at the pretentious yuppie establishments. At least I could enjoy the food while I was getting rinsed.
It’s also about a twenty minute car ride to anywhere else. So. If you want a relaxing meal without a long drive prepare...
Read moreWe stayed at Haven Weymouth Bay and were unable to book a table online for the Mash and Barrel. Despite it being very busy Brandon and Emily accommodated us and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and able to find a seat, with our children and dog. Gideon was our server and was super lovely and polite, checking on us throughout the evening.
Food was standard but service from Emily, Brandon and Gideon was...
