Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in England

I travel a lot for work so go to, and order from a lot of food places but this one might just be the worst, and going by the reviews they should probably just shut it down. I implore you not to waste your time.

I ordered 3 sides and after about 20 minutes the tracker said it was cutting up and packing, 50 minutes later, it was still cutting and packing. I rang up, phone was ringing for a few minutes and no one answered, so i just waited. It was nearly two hours before it arrived (not even pizza just a few sides). The delivery guy seemed friendly but was clueless, he rang me to let me know he was here, said he saw me waiting so hung up the phone, then stood at his car for a couple minutes looking around like his memory of the phone call 30 seconds earlier had been erased.

Decided I wouldn't bother leaving a review because fair enough, maybe it was busy, and looking at other reviews, most people had already said the same things.

Cut to eating the food, it was fine. Opened the third side which was labelled chicken poppers, as I was expecting. It was instead a second load of another side I'd ordered. Looking at other reviews this isn't the first time it's happened which made me think maybe they're just messing with people, but how do you see two different labels and put the same thing in both??

I rang them up, just after a refund because I wasn't hungry enough to be sent the side again, and the guy, after not really knowing was I was saying said yes when I asked for a refund and immediately hung up. I rang back and said I want a refund and he just told me to go to customer service, no idea why he didn't tell me that to start with.

All round awful experience for very average if not below average food. Reading the reviews here I'm honestly surprised it's still open. Can't imagine the positive reviews are real either to be honest.

Recently, my friends and I attempted to place a substantial order totaling over 200£ at Papa John's Pizza, both online and through collection. However, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment due to the unsatisfactory customer service we encountered. Despite trying to order online and calling multiple times around 10:30 pm, we were met with rude and unprofessional behavior from the staff. Not only were they unresponsive and declined our calls, but they also failed to assist us properly. This experience left a bitter taste in our mouths, especially considering our genuine love for Papa John's pizza.

Unfortunately, our repeated attempts to reach out for assistance, whether through the online platform or via phone for collection, were met with the same level of disrespect and disregard. It is truly disheartening to see a beloved pizza establishment fall short in the realm of customer service, especially when loyal customers like us are looking to enjoy their delicious offerings.

Overall, our experience with Papa John's Pizza, both online and during collection, was highly disappointing, primarily due to the lack of professionalism and courtesy displayed by the staff. Amazingly friendly staff. Yes they've all got foreign accents and a couple of them can be difficult to understand at times, but they're all pleasant extremely hardworking chaps who are happy to repeat themselves if necessary. I order from them regularly, and every time I am greeted with a warm smile, and usually a "Have you seen our latest offer" or "We've got a new range of pizza's coming in next week." This store has NEVER disappointed me with the amazing quality of their pizza, no the speed from making an online order to going and picking it up. The one time there was a mistake, they told me about it at the time (removing "extra cheese" came though to their system as "no cheese at all") and they offered to make me another one on the spot at no extra charge.
