Bad experience. I customised my quarter pounder order by removing the cheese but retaining everything else. Simple right? Just donāt put the cheese in the burger! Apparently this was a bit too complicated. I ended up with a burger with ketchup and nothing else. No onion, gherkin, mustard ⦠just ketchup. I waited in a queue to get the attention of staff. All the while my chips were going cold and my husband was eating his own meal. Finally spoke to someone who giggled nervously and said I had been given the wrong custom order and they would make me another. Five minutes later, my husband had finished his meal, I had eaten my now Luke warm fries and I still had no burger. I returned to the desk and the staff member looked at me confused. āDonāt you have your burger yet?!ā āNo, I donāt and Iām getting crossā. She disappeared briefly and then said āOh they did it wrong again!ā, rolled her eyes and giggled nervously as though she were talking about a toddler who still couldnāt quite master a shape sorting game and his shortcomings were cute and endearing. I stated that I was very unhappy, hungry and inconvenienced, that I would like my burger now please as well as a refund. āOh, we donāt do refunds! But I can give you a free dessert?ā. Dessert?! I just want my flipping burger! I was due to see Oppenheimer at the cinema in 5 minutes and was desperately trying to contain my own atomic explosion in response to incompetent customer service. The burger finally arrived along with a lukewarm apple pie. Very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreActually, due to bad experiences at the Courtney Road, Gillingham branch, it has been a while since I visited a McDs. The staff at Courtney Road are rude, unprofessional and extremely unfriendly. Fast forward to today (26/05/2025), I popped into the Medway Valley Leisure Park branch for some lunch with my two young grandsons, after a trip to the nearby bowling alley. What a difference this branch is to my local Courtney Road Gillingham one. I kid you not, I felt like I'd travelled back to a McDs restaurant of the 1970/1980s! Perfectly clean and welcoming, with a little light music playing in the background to help you chill. From the minute we entered, we were greeted with smiles and attentive service. All staff are highly professional, polite and helpful. Especially Courtney, who went over and above to make our visit a pleasant one. She even wished us a lovely afternoon as we were leaving. I think all staff at Courtney Road in Gillingham, should be parcelled off to Medway Valley Leisure Park for lessons in how to run a successful business. Well done to all at Medway...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my nephew here for his birthday and he ate something (a breakfast) he generally does not eat at home...and then the lovely hostess came over and offered the kids extra hash browns. We were most satisfied.
p.s. It is not often that my expectations at McDonald's are exceeded (this is no indictment on McDonald's, it is just that that I (or anybody) don't expect gourmet cuisine, nor my food macros to be met), but their Breakfast Wrap, somehow has pretty much the main constituents of an English Breakfast within a thin wrap and somehow manages to be delicious and fresh tasting too. I am not saying I would swap my own breakfast for theirs on a regular basis, but it was a serendipitous find and I have to give credit where credit is due p.p.s. Another shout out to that lobby hostess (middle-aged lady), I wish I'd caught her...
