Melenio — Restaurant in England

What a wonderful place!

We booked our table in the morning via their website inquiries for 5pm on a Saturday evening. They emailed us shortly after to confirm our booking, very hassle free and quick. We parked nearly at the local carpark and walked a few minutes to the restaurant. We were seated as soon as we arrived at the restaurant.

We ordered our food and drinks, drinks came extremely quickly and the starters not long after. We ordered the spicy sausage, prawns and mussels as our starter. What can I say! The food was delicious, soft and creamy. I can honestly say this was some of the best starters I've ever had. After having starters I was more hungry than when I arrived at the restaurant in anticipation of the main course.

The main course arrived shortly after we had finished our starters. The main course continued to hit the high standards of the starters. We had ordered the seafood risotto and the lamb chops. The lamb chops were juicy and tender, cooked to perfection. The seafood risotto was rich and creamy, every bite was full of flavour.

Once we had finished our mains, we were so impressed that we ordered even more food. We ordered another prawn starter, the salmon starter, tiramisu and vanilla cheesecake with strawberries. The high standards continued all the way through the rest of our meal.

The service was second to none! We were served very quickly and the host was very knowledgeable of the food and the menu. She suggested the best way to have the lamb chops. The host even noticed that I had a wobbly plate and rectified it immediately without any prompt from myself and my partner. She encouraged me to fully try the starters including the salad that I ignored which was delicious, I could not fault her service and professionalism.

If you are ever in the area and get the opportunity to eat here, I cannot recommend this...

Premise: most of my reviews are 4 to 5 stars, I'm not that kind of person that like to throw bad reviews just because it's mean. Now, let's get to the point. Place is nice and clean, got a 5 out of 5 rating in terms of hygiene from the government. Waitress was very nice and took care of me for the whole time. The two stars rating comes from the fact that this is not even close to Italian cuisine. First of all the carbonara. Sweet and overcooked, refined and eaten only because I was hungry after a full day of work. This is not the way carbonara is made, there should not be any cream. No taste of eggs, no taste of cheese. It was basically pasta, cream, some herbs that I couldn't recognize and bacon. Soup of the day was good (tomato and basil). Also the chicken wasn't bad at all, despite the face that there was (again) a lot of cream. About the tiramisù, it's a non classified: it was a nice sweet thing, but not a tiramisu: where is the mascarpone? That's the main ingredient. Savoiardi anyway were good. Coffe just decent. Price... Well, 46.5 pounds, considering coffee and limoncello free: overpriced. I will come back? Don't think so. This can be a good restaurant, but definetly not a good Italian restaurant. I agree on trying new things and recipes, but please, don't mess up with...

Amazing food, Amazing everything!

Ordered starters, mains, then starters again and lastly dessert!

I can't stress how good this place is! Our starters were amazing, that's why we had a second round of starters and our mains were just a bust of flavour in each bite. I cannot give justice to how good the food is!

And the service was fab. My partner had a plate that was a bit wobbly but we didn't mind and not realising that the server noticed and gave us a cloth place mat to even out and stop the clinking of the plate on the table. Superb service! She recommended how best my partners lamb was to be cooked and that was the best mouth watering flavourful lamb ever! Server clearly knows the menu well.

We also had desserts that did not fail to impress. And my partner and I never have desserts! This is truly and honestly, in my own opinion, the best food we've ever set our taste buds on!

We spent quite a bit but that was because we kept going for seconds!
