The Ferry Boat - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in England

Staff are very rude, very intimidating and I seen an alive rat running across the floor, the staff acted as if this was a normal every day occurrence. They accepted a payment of £12 and never gave me and my friends the service we paid for. The staff then sat and watched us, and intimidated us the whole time we sat there. Other members off staff joined them on the table and sat watching us and whispering. They never had the heating on and I heard numerous customers complaining about how cold it was. The tables were full off dirty plates and when we asked members off staff to remove them they refused and told us if we wanted a clean table we should either move or put the plates on the kitchen window ourselves. We ordered food and they didn't have any of the ingrediants, we went through 3 different meals before they had the ingrediants to order a meal. The staff snarled and refused to serve us after the trauma they put us through. They then came and told us because we complained about the way the members off staff were speaking to us we had to leave. Very rude and disrespectful staff and wouldn't...

Mixture of people and Family go here mostly for a good meal since they offer good deals on food. Good for drinks or a quiet cuppa coffee(free refils also)

Staff really nice friendly, know security doormen on weekend and as stated not the venue's fault but Runcorn has a mix of great and not so great people after a few drinking sessions buts that the UK for you, But never had any trouble here, Sometimes quiet, Sometimes very busy place, Sitting down at table, using the app to order for table services much better to recline with people and focus on company you may be with

Daytime trading lots of mixed people popping in for breakfast or finished trade or shift workers sinking a quick pint (or two) before home (or work)

No live music but have tv on sky sports news or channels

I really coming in spare time to steal the free WiFi connection...

Firstly I suppose I should have rated it more as places like the ferry boat do have their uses..BUT..back to the two stars..the food is exstreamly basic ..abc cooking style ..they read what an item has in it & then throw it together. .how long items are cooked is probably standard too..the department maybe run by the to older ones the 20 yr olds that McDonald's let go. The clientèle are only of interest if ur a dedicated people watcher as they all combine to enhance ur imagination of the strange (some scary) creatures that dwell amongst us..(.me included ) .. BUT BUT ...the ferry boat ...IS in all aspects a better place in church st..4 a drink out..it's atmosphere is bent towards lively & fun..I've never known trouble when I've been there & they do keep the toilets functioning & clean which is a blessing...
