Check it out!! Stopped at this little coffee shop, very friendly staff
coffee wasn’t bad either only I offered mine to the homeless person after a couple of sips who was sat under the arch just before the high street! He said he really liked the coffee, so I guess it was really nice!! I had no complaints from the teaspoon amount I had. Place is fairly small with a few tables, but to be honest, it’s well stocked and fairly clean. Cappuccino was £3.10 for a small and I got extra chocolate sprinkles!! Worth a visit!

What an amazing cafe this is. Wonderful food and great service and extremely dog friendly! Would highly recommend 😍 have visited several times with our older dog when she was a puppy and have brought our new pup here a few times too, she loves it and the owner and staff could not have been more welcoming

A charming little cafĂ© just off the main street, don’t forget there’s more seating upstairs. We’ve been before, and the staff are always pleasant plus they allow dogs, which is excellent. Lovely homemade cakes with plenty of choice, and the coffee is lovely too. We’ll be back. Thank you. Lyndon S.

Food was very disappointing!

"Soft style scrambled eggs and sautéed mushrooms on toast" Eggs were bland and overcooked, pale yellow in colour and had 0 taste no matter how much salt you added. The mushrooms were abysmal, I was expecting "sautéed" but was given mushrooms clearly out of a tin, no caramelisation or seasoning, likely cooked in a microwave as the water content still in them went into the eggs and made them grey, poor.

DOGS!

The dog situation was disgusting, 3/4 of the people that came into the café had dogs, its fine if you're in a pub or somewhere easy for drinks - not if you're in an eatery, sat down trying to eat your food and there's literal hair going onto your table from yapping dogs under your feet from other tables. Really poor, unhygienic.

Coffee was actually nice and the staff were good but leave motorway services style food at the services and kick the dogs out, the worst thing was skipping on Bunce's for a change to try Mercer's -...

Such a wonderful little place. The food was amazing, but nothing beats the drinks. Holy cow, my Orange Hot Chocolate was possibly the best thing I've ever had to drink. Vegan and vegetarian options. The cook came to double check things about my table's food and the table next to us (just to make sure about allergies, substitutions, and get everything right). Such care! They were understaffed, but it didn't feel like it, which, to me, just goes to show how amazing they are (to keep doing a superb job even when your short a few hands). It was clean, well decorated, and a fun environment. I highly recommend going. We...

The Mercers owner really tries to be inclusive for people with allergies. She had gluten-free options and dairy free options, too. She was also happy for my daughter to eat her own food as she has egg and oat allergy to go with the gluten and dairy. My daughter had a dairy Free milkshake, with plenty of options on the dairy free milk. (Made also with dairy free ice-cream) I had an almond milk latte and a gluten and dairy free brownie. It's nice to be able to go out for a coffee and not feel like a hindrance. A...
