Miiko Everyday Nourishing is a bit off the beaten track but what a nice little place it is. You will not find soda pops or burgers but you get freshly prepared healthy food that is as delicious as it sounds. Miiko is placed within the Ashley Cross residential area on Salterns Road. If you like freshly prepared healthy food you are in the right place. Parking is off road only and you may find that you have to walk a bit to and from your car. There is plenty of outside seating available and being a residential area it is quiet however every now and then there is a train going by. If you are disabled there is a small step to get inside and to get on to the large outside decking area there is a bit higher step which may be a bit challenging for wheelchair users. There are two small tables in front of the shop where you can get to with a wheelchair as there are no steps but it is a bit narrow. On the decking you find plenty of space and in a large basket there are some cushions available if you find the wooden seats to hard on your behinds. The menu is small but filled with great tasting food which is freshly prepared. Also most of the dishes are presented in one time use cardboard or plastic however it seems all to be good for recycling. Cold drinks are presented in glass bottles that carry a deposit and if you bring back your bottle you get 20 pence return. The coffee is delicious and locally sourced. As I visited towards the end of June there was plenty of fresh fruits available however I am not sure if their food ingredients are seasonal sorted. All in all, this is a nice gem and if you like vegan and / or vegetarian food you be hard pressed to find a better place. Last but not least, dogs are welcome and there is fresh water available on the outside...
Read moreA bit shimola with a touch drizzle! Honestly this place is awful. When I say a touch of drizzle it’s because it matches the atmosphere. Firstly you know that feeling you have when you’ve slept great and you’re ready to smash the day like a premier Inn all you can eat buffet and you look out the window and it’s raining? Well that’s what it felt like as I entered the place the atmosphere was dizzmal just like a downward drizzle on your day off. As for the food well tasteless like eating compressed cardboard. It left me contemplating the hypothesis “ is veganism just a deflection tactic to mask severe eating disorder” and don’t get me wrong I love a tofu hot pot just as much as the next stop oil protester. I ate the super greens frittata and it was so dry and tasteless. I also had a peanut chocolate cookie dough bar that I would not of even been able to swallow if I hadn’t had a trusty flat white by my side. Its consistency was like sand and it soaked up every inch of moisture in my mouth upon every bite. I was eating it thinking I’ve paid nearly £20 and feel like I’m on a bush tucker trial. I honestly feel like I was mugged and I don’t get this place. Maybe it’s just cool to be there or maybe it’s like a trust fund eligibility thing. All I can say is anyone who’s reviewed this place as tasty or delicious etc. should just switch to buying army rations instead of real store bought food. There tastebuds have clearly left for the highlands. Positives it smelt kind of perfumy so it masked my discrete rooter tooters from all that protein power. All though the dirty wet Labrador in the corner had my number I’m sure of it. Oh and the coffee is good...
Read moreI have been coming to Miiko for years & it never fails to be the perfect stop for a pick me up, a healthy dining experience & my chosen destination for most of my meetings! Miiko staff are always very friendly & the food is just magnificent medicine for the soul! My favourite go-to’s are the Detox Juice, Chia Soaked Oats, Dahl or the Broccoli Soup & if I’m dreaming of a sweet treat, it’s either the Bronut OR the Cookie Dough Millionaire. Don’t miss smoothie bowls in the summer! There is outside seating as well as indoor! The bread… Miiko bread is another level, we joke about them selling it but they’d have a queue down the road every morning...
