Well what can I say about this wonderful, quirky place that probably hasn't been said plenty of times. What this lady has created is an absolute Gem. Having visited quite a while ago for a mooch around the Aladins cave of treasures a short while ago I found myself in the area in need of a bite to eat and thought I'd give it a go....how glad I was that I did....Fantastic....this bearded tattooed individual has become addicted. I don't live in the past but certainly love becoming part of it for a cosy dining experience be it breakfast, brunch or lunch you just can't go wrong. Excellent food and choice, beautiful homemade cakes and desserts...Carvery is fabulous...much of the produce home grown I believe. You are sat amongst an array of gorgeous China something I love a real reminder of yesteryear...I do have a weakness for bone China. Now last but not least the staff...an A star here...totally welcoming, friendly and beyond the call of duty at making you feel at home...they actually look like they enjoy working a rarely found trait these days. I gather Rose the owner named it after her mother I feel has created a truly special place that I can't recommend highly enough...a place filled with genuine, real and warm staff who are like extended family to her and us who frequent Miss Molly's...I can't stop coming back for more...and into the bargain unlike many places these days it doesn't break the bank....
Read moreThis dreadful antiques shop and cafe has an incredible selection of different smells to assault your senses. Upon entry we were greeted by the waft of omelette and bacon being cooked in very well used oil. Entering the toilet, there was a faint fecal aroma, which wafted out to the kitchen door. Looking into the kitchen, it looked like a grubby and fearful place where hygiene did not appear to be a priority. Walking through the shop we savoured some musty smells in the dusty, unclean rooms. At the back of the shop there was a unique sweet smell that sickened my senses. Upstairs there was a collection of eerie furniture, an invalid bed, a dreary four poster and a decrepit pram. The worst was yet to come, however, as we turned the corner we entered a room containing carpets, and giving off a smell that cannot be described. It instantly activated my gag reflex and we had to leave immediately. I can only assume that the cat people have mentioned in other reviews has been using this room as a litter tray for many years. Many dead insects in the crockery for sale, all of the goods were ludicrously overpriced. We left with our noses pinched and our...
Read moreMiss Molly's is a lovely place to visit, doubling as a tea room and a 2nd hand shop. There is a large menu, and Sunday Carvery is offered. The Sunday Carvery is very delicious with everything you'd expect as well as the option to go up for more veg! Teas and Coffees are standard, with the teapots coming in an adorable tea cosy that keep your tea lovely and hot! We have had some less than fortunate experiences though. For one, we ordered Cornish Cream Teas to-go and they didn't come with tea! We had to order tea as extra and it seems the lids kids weren't put on properly so one spilt on my partner in the car and gave her a nasty scar. We also had a time where we booked a table for the carvery and were placed as far as possible from where you collect the food leading to a long and precarious walk back to the table carrying our food. Luckily, they do now provide trays which made this easier! But the table we were on could not fit both our trays...
Overall, Miss Molly's is a unique experience that is good value for money, very warm and welcoming, and will leave you...
