Visited friends with my partner last weekend and ordered Mockingbird at 6:40 last Saturday on JustEat, the app said food between 7:35-7:55 - an hour wait on a Saturday night is understandable.
At 7:35 JustEat told me the food had been delivered (it hadn’t) so at 7:55 I tried calling Mockingbird. The number on JustEat was an invalid number. Got the number off Google. It called a bar instead.
I informed the person on the phone of the situation, he just said “yeah we’re really busy” and it wasn’t until I said JustEat said we had our food that they were willing to check the order. He said our order would be next out of the door.
Food arrived at 8:30. 2 hours after submitting the order. Mockbird is an 8 minute drive from the destination. A portion of poutine was missing, tots were cold and when I’ve tried to contact on the website, Mockingbird have failed to reply.
Not sure when companies began to think they deserve a pat on the back and all problems forgiven because of the flavour of the food. The lateness of the food meant we were an hour late setting off, meaning we hit m180 road closure, forcing a 45 minute detour.
As I’ve said in my JustEat review, I expect a full refund for my £61 order. I’d be embarrassed if I...
Read moreI can't fault the burgers their delicious but the service is slow and to be fair the price is ridiculous I made my own today which tasted pretty much the same for a £5er tops for 2 people (and I only buy organic chicken breast) , whereas the chips are £4.95 for a portion that's the same size as a portion in a child's happy meal. The price of the chips really are what's brought me here, we went the other night and I really fancied chips, passing several chip shops on route and said to my partner na they'll B cold by the time we've got the burger. Big regret I wish I'd have just picked a portion up and popped them in my oven prior to going to mocking. I actually could not believe how little amount of chips there were like a 1/4 what you'd get from a normal take out for more than double the price. What on earth there's note special about them no fancy coating just average skin on fries... This is Grimsby ffs I could have got spam chips and mushy peas for half the price of them fries and to top it off I asked for cajun seasoning for a extra 35p which I had to put the fries in a collinder and shake the garbage off as its simply pure salt with a bit of curry powder... Your fries are utter...
Read moreServing stale buns. Buns don't crumble like this unless they are stale. As soon as you touch it, it's in bits. And it tastes dry.
Chicken is too big for the crumbling bun or to get in your mouth. If you make food, make it edible and not just for insta pictures please.
The slaw was generic and nice but defo not wow or even standout.
Sweet and sticky chicken wings weren't either. They were lovely and crispy but squeezing some honey on hot wings it'll fall off. This dish is crispy wings with honey at the bottom of the plate
Chips. Nice. Didn't seem to be seasoned other than lots of salt which was fine.
We'd come off a freezing long walk so we're soooo hungry we ate everything and couldn't be bothered to get replacements (if you're serving stale buns then you don't have fresh; I'm not here to tell you what happens when honey hits hot wings)
Made for...
