Morrisons Cafe — Restaurant in England

It was a disaster from the second we entered. Their order and pay machine/screen wasn't working properly, there were no table numbers in the holder, which are needed to complete the ordering/payment system. There were no clean mugs, I had to go to the kitchen myself where someone reluctantly brought 3 frankly not clean mugs. They looked like they had just been rinsed under the tap. There were uncollected cutlery plates and food on all the tables, and bussing trolleys, which had not been cleaned. One of the 2 coffee machines, self serve, was not working, the one that was had a queue because it was so incredibly slow. One of the customers complained to a member of staff and asked if the other machine could be refilled. Her response was to complain that she could not get near because of the amount of people around it. This after 5 minutes of leaning against a wall watching the proceedings. There were no clean forks and when the breakfasts were, eventually, brought out they were cold, and had the extra items we had ordered missing, although there was, strangely, an unordered, bowl of cold chips included. I would not venture into this place ever again and cannot recommend that anyone else does so. The poor food experience was further compounded by the attitude of the totally rude and uninterested staff. Morrisons in general seems to be becoming somewhere I do not want to visit, week on week. 19/11/23 11.30 am. Ordered 2 breakfast's and 2 coffee’s at the counter, not the self service screen, found a table and waited 10 minutes. The member of staff that had originally taken our order then came over and said that there would be a 40 minute wait for food, the restaurant wasn’t busy and only another couple had been served in front of us. I asked for a refund as we couldn’t wait, this took a further 10 minutes to be authorised and I had to go and find a supervisor that could actually carry out the process. On enquiring why we hadn’t been told about the delay for food the staff member said that they’ve been told not to draw attention to any delays before payment has been taken, as customer will leave. Been promising myself to take myself to Morrisons cafe for years to try out their famous fish and chips. It was worth the long wait😊 The fish was fresh with a nice batter and the service was good. For £6.99 the meal met its value for Money. The chips were frozen oven chips which I will not hold them against considering they provide allot of choice on their menu.. I will happily come back again. Especially would recommend the chicken and vegetable broth if you’re trying to cut down...
