Muffin Break — Restaurant in England

A ubiquitous coffee and snack stop in the centre of Blackburn mall. Great if you’re looking for that kind of thing, and easily accessible for people with kids and buggies. Also the haunt of people of a ‘certain age’ (probably why I was there!). All the above would be okay if the food was any good, but my simple toasted teacake was served burnt black at the bottom and the top, and the service staff seemed unconcerned to the point of not noticing. Even when I asked for a replacement, the next one was singed. Went into Muffin Break Blackburn this afternoon for two coffees, I haven't been for a while. Was shocked at the price increases and a charge of 60p for oat milk. I objected to this on principle as I didn't want cow's milk (vegan). We went to walk out and the assistant back-tracked on this and decided not to charge us, so we stayed. It ruined the experience so we won't be returning. I also noticed it was grubby looking and the prices are far too high now. Charging 60p extra for milk is discrimatory to vegans and lactose intolerant people. It was £7.20 for two coffees and that was without the 60p added. Honestly I’ve seen a lot of people go in this place so I thought it was good, the service was so horrendous the lady told the man to take our order and it took so long for him to finally take it then she shouted ur orders ready not knowing who it’s for… we were eating and there was a strong smell of like nail varnish that was sickening and we couldn’t eat, turns out he was painting the back while customers were eating?? We left straight away and the way the lady was acting was just ridiculous infront of customers?? And the man said give something for free in Urdu and the lady just said leave it? Terrible customer service...
