Forget the naysayers - we visited on a wet afternoon in May, and we sat in the front overlooking the street, beside the old inglenook fireplace. The staff were without doubt very friendly to a person, couldn't do enough for you, and the traditional meal was plentiful and hot and tasty. They welcome dogs too. We landed on a quiet time and it was very pleasant and relaxing. OK, so they are not the fastest at serving, but you're not in some high speed town or city here, so don't expect London; you're in rural Dorset, there's a much slower pace to everything. I've been served fast before, and the staff are often stressed and unfriendly. Which would you rather have? Why not take things easy and relax. The meal came to us in the normal time you'd expect and the prices were average, not above - I'm from Yorkshire, trust me I wouldn't pay through the nose! But you also get what you pay for and let's face it, some people are just born to complain no matter what you do for them. We'd certainly go there again next time...

Dashed for somewhere else to go and with hungry children, we popped into this authentic and rustic tea room.
Entrance through the takeaway part with Sandwich’s and Paninis about £5.25.
However faced with menus and feeling like we should just commit, paid well over the odds for our lunch. Gammon (actually plain ham) sandwich £9. Panini’s £11.25. Difference from the takeaway, tiny side salad and a table to eat at did not justify difference.
So 3 sandwiches, 1 sausage roll, 3 drinks =£42.
I know we could have left but not knowing area and a pressing need to stop felt obligated, however, and whilst against a meal deal, wish we had visited Sainsbury’s/Co-Op and sat by the very lovely and active river.
Prices even if you are prepared to pay just don’t feel...
Read moreWe visited Nellie crumb while in wareham for a few hours, after having a look around the local shops we decided to go in to Nellie crumb for a cream tea. All I can say is wow what a wonderful little tea room. We had our dog with us but was made very welcome, we gad the choice of where we wanted to sit & chose to sit outside. The lady took our order & returned with some dog biscuits which was very much appreciated by our dog. The scones were huge but tasted absolutely lovely and were nice and warm. They came with plenty of clotted cream & jam but we was told we could ask for more if we wanted. 100% made to feel welcome & for the food also. 100% recommend...
