New Golden House Derby — Restaurant in England

I really don’t like to leave negative reviews but after driving round half of Derby looking for a Chinese that was open last Wednesday having just returned from holiday we settled on this place not to far from where we live.

I ordered crispy shredded beef, yeung chow fried rice, Singapore chow mien, curry sauce and chips. It was quite reasonably priced at around £21.

When I got home and opened the crispy shredded beef I was very disappointed, it looked grey in a light brown sauce (not the red/orange I’m used to) and there was a slightly off smell about it. I couldn’t eat it. The fried rice was ok (pretty standard) and the noodles were good (very spicy), the chips and curry sauce were ok too but overall it was very greasy and seemed abit off. I wouldn’t go here again.

Note to customers the go in to order they only accept cash not cards.

Also they have a fish tank that made me sad as there was a huge fish it it, way too big for the tank (like half the size of the tank) and a lonely turtle among some other sad...

I have been using this Chinese for a long time and up till now I've been a happy customer , lovely lady always answered the phone politely and helpful and when asked for sea food to be removed from a dish she took the time to check it was because of an allergy , however tonight I order after not ordering for a while and a man answered the phone with not the best customer service skills just "Hello" so I have to ask as they normally tell u is this golden house also when asked them no prawns in my dish I wasn't asked if It was an allergy , feel there standard's...

If I could give this less than 1 I would, ordered food through foodhub, chips arrived drenched in water, no egg in the rice and when my partner opened her beef in black bean sauce we were immediately greeted by a hair.. looked to be from an animal, thought nothing of it so continued until my partner was pulling hairs out left right and centre until we binned it! Called to complain and request a refund in which they refused! Lesson learned never again. Foodhubs support was terrible hence why I believe they are...
