New Spice Lounge — Restaurant in England

Having used the spice lounge numerous times …really really disappointed. Received a Just Eat gift card for Christmas so Boxing Day I decided to use my gift card for a takeaway- as anyone would. After ordering and saving some money on my takeaway an HOUR later I received a call from the spice lounge to say that they don’t understand how I’ve got a credit of 40 pounds and that they don’t do this….I explained that they are on Just Eat therefore they will clearly be recompensated and it’s a voucher therefore they need to accept it …He just kept mumbling making absolutely no sense demanding that I pay the rest of the money that the voucher covered otherwise they won’t make my food. At this point after thinking my food was on its way as they only decided to ring an hour after I had already ordered I declined to pay the rest and cancelled my order. The worst customer service I have ever received and whoever I spoke to didn’t have a clue about what day it was let alone that they are on just eat therefore need to accept the voucher code. Unfortunately they are clearly just extremely greedy for the money. I will NEVER be returning to them again and i would advise anyone else to...

This was my second time at The Spice lounge this year following the reopening of restaurants, following the global lock down. And, I'm glad I chose them.

Its a small and tidy restaurant that have taken care to follow the new guidelines, for example, using partitioning between tables for distancing.

The food is spectacular, in my opinion. But, above that is their excellent customer service and friendly demeanor.

I'm impressed how they have kept this same friendly attitude even with customers that were more challenging, and had a tad too much to drink, shall I say ;}

I ordered a range of dishes including 2 pilau rices. I received 1 steamed rice instead of the 2 x pilau. When I called to explain the mistake, the guy on the phone was very polite and said they would send a replacement pilau. However when the delivery guy arrived he asked me to pay extra! Not the customer service I would have expected when the mistake was theirs. When I called back to ask for an explanation, he said I needed to pay, but why when they had already admitted their mistake (he never said I needed to pay for their error)?
