It went on a recommendation from a colleague whilst in Salisbury with work and was so glad to have tried it.
You get a big smile and warm welcome when you arrive then sit wherever you like. The seating is big tables with benches, so really casual and laid back. You get a real mix of people which is really nice and makes for a good atmosphere.
The menu is huge and can be mixed however you like, so choosing is a challenge as it all sounds great. There are a lot of good veggie and vegan options. Kids menu looked fun. The kitchen is open and you can see them cooking everything fresh to order. Service is fast but not rushed.
The first time we went, two of us had three sides, two mains, drinks and pot of green tea which totalled £44, absolute bargain considering the food was lovely and portions were good. The way the menu is structured you could eat at most budgets.
As I was staying another night I decided to go again and try more of the huge menu. Again a warm welcome and great service. The noodle soup was awesome and a huge portion.
Love the place, the food and staff, can't wait...
Read moreWe regularly eat at Chef Peking. We feel the food is good value and the surroundings, although a little dated, are comfortable. We always receive a friendly welcome. We nearly always have set menu B, and this is possibly why we have never had any confusion with the orders so can't comment on that. I will add that they have reasonably priced, very drinkable house wine, unlike many places these days. There are a few other Chinese restaurants in the area, one that's a little cheaper and the food reflects this - ate there once and would never go in again. The other is very expensive and the one occasion we went in we received terrible service and felt the food was expensive and not any better than Chef Peking. I happily recommend Chef Peking to family...

Perfectly cooked food, deliciously fresh, tasty dishes with great menu options for Vegans and Meat-eaters alike at really affordable and keen prices. Staff extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly - a lovely 'street food' ambience in a chilled, clean, unfussy and unhurried environment. Looking forward to a return visit next week when working at Salisbury Hospital.
