We visit this pub usually on a Saturday evening for a couple of drinks, before we go to a restaurant. The staff are always very friendly and service is usually quite quick even when it's busy. The atmosphere is always really good with a nice mix of clientele. However this comes at a cost, literally. The prices are extremely high. For a pint of Amstel and a medium white wine It's £13.40. One of the most, if not the most expensive in the town. Hence why we only have a couple of drinks per visit.

Went to The Old House for the first time on Mother's Day, had the roasted trio which was amazing! Followed by the brownie, and others had the sponge cake. The presentation of all of the food was great, the staff were all very helpful and attentive. Someone in the group was gluten free, the team were very knowledgeable and ensured her requirements were accommodated for. Overall a lovely experience, and would recommend a visit, especially for a Sunday roast!

Beautiful Restaurant. We were there last night for a work dinner booked for 7pm. The cocktails were delicious! The staff was attentive too! It was very quiet (it was a Thursday night), food was good. The only downer was that they close at 9pm Monday - Thursday I believe, but their website said 11pm, so we did feel like we had to be rushed out when we were done. Overall it was nice.

Booked tonight on the recommendation of a friend. When I booked online I could see the last table for food was 845pm. It clearly stated that we would have the table till 2245. This appeared perfect as we wanted to celebrate qualifying as paramedics. We decided to arrive early at 2015 for pre drinks. When we were greeted by the barman we were immediately told kitchen closes at 9pm and there’s no lamb and only one steak left. My wife quipped that we must by getting the scaggs! After sitting at our table we were immediately confronted by the waiter wanting to take our orders. We ordered wine, for starters king pawns and for seconds burgers. Literally 10 minutes later our burgers came and then about a minute later our pawns arrived. Hardly what I would call relaxed dining. It was clear they wanted us to finish eating quickly. About 9pm I asked for desert only to be told kitchen had been clean down! To be honest after that all I wanted to do was leave. We paid and left by 905pm. What a way to be treated as paying customers post COVID. Totally ruin our celebration. We had intended to stay out at old house until they closed. We would of ordered drinks throughout the night. In fact I had brought over £150 to spend on drinks and meal which now they have lost. I will never go there again. No customer service. They took our booking knowing that the kitchen closed a 9pm. Why? Because all they are interested in is your money. I for one will never give them a penny of my money again. This is one place that should never...

Nice pub and atmosphere but was placed in a embarrassing situation of not being able to buy a drink due to a card only payment policy this is ridiculous and was so humiliating when the only thing I had to pay with was cash and after the man had poured my drink I had to say sorry I have no other way to pay so will have to leave it you should accept cash payments as many people like to take cash out on a night out so they don't end up loosing their bank cards and you can keep track of what your spending better I was only buying a lime and soda was not worth putting on a card won't be returning unless you bring back...

Good measures in place for safety. Team are very helpful and table service works really well. The drinks were served promptly and the menu, although small, had a good selection.

The food took a little while to arrive but understandable in these times. When it arrived it was worth the wait. My steak was cooked perfectly and the homemade onion rings were delicious. If I was going to criticise anything it would be that I would have liked a few more chips and onion rings.

All in all a...
