Good food and atmosphere let down by a disappointing customer service experience.
I visited this place with my girlfriend. We arrived on time for our booking and we both were promptly seated. We then were unsure if we could have shisha at our table after food because we had ticked the option online for a smoking table. The waiter then kindly moved us to the table in the back where we could order food and have shisha also.
The food was good. We were happy with the food, the portion was generous and filling. A little let down by the quality of shisha as it was little harsh and they didn't seem to have a regular shisha waiter who would come round the tables and change coals etc. But that wasn't a big issue. You can't have it all, at this point it was still a pleasent enough experience.
As we were on our final drinks we thought to ask for the bill so that we could pay and then leave when the drinks had finished. Once the bill came I asked for a card machine, to be told they do not accept card and cash only. This was unexpected but not surprising. So I asked where the nearest card machine was and went on my way. When I came back with the cash less than 5 minutes later, to my surprise my girlfriend was sitting at the reception area of the restaurant. I asked her why she was there as I was expecting to sit at the table and finish my drink and then leave. She told me she was asked by the waiter to get up and sit by the reception area as they have other bookings. I was shocked at this. We hadn't finished our evening. I was only asking for the bill at the time that I did because it would be more convenient if we paid it then sat for 5 minutes and then left.
Due to my annoyance, I asked someone to speak to a manager. I explained that we were rushed off of our table and that I did not appreciate this. This is not how I expect an establishment like this to run. I explained that we were only sat for around 90 minutes so there was no need for the rush. I was speaking to 2 people at this time and I had no idea who the manager was. The manager kept speaking about how busy they are and how many bookings they have. I kindly reminded the manager that this is not my issue. We shouldn't have been rushed from the table. Especially bearing in mind I hadn't finished my drink yet. He then replied saying the waiters only asked my girlfriend to leave after we had asked for the bill and not before. I did not know how this was relevant? It shouldn't have mattered when we asked for the bill. We shouldn't have been rushed, we did not exceed their time limit. There was hardly an apology or any care from the management, which we were extremely disappointed with.
There was no accountability for the mistake they had made. When speaking to management they kept mentioning a 2 hour sitting policy. Which made no sense to me as I explained we were only at the table for around 90 minutes. We paid our whole bill and the management would not do anything for us at all, even though we hadn't finished our drinks. We won't be recommending this establishment. During eating soups my partner received his main course half way through only to be getting cold on the side as he was still eating his soup. We didn’t say anything he just rushed the soup so his main course is saved still a bit warm. Meanwhile I was patiently waiting for my main dish and considering the fact they should be somehow served in similar time after a while i reminded the hostess that we are still missing one course. She disappeared and after giving it another chance I simply canceled it as my partner already was finishing his course. The hostess rolled her eyes. Very disappointing and unwelcoming. One hostesses welcomed us sad and without smile as soon as we came in. Pointed with her finger where to seat. Anyway, after the incident nobody came to us to offer us anything or at least to apologise. We were the only few customers in the restaurant with 3 hostesses on the floor. We were completely ignored. Important to note also is that after 10 minutes we came in, 2 other customers came in to order food and they were served first while I was waiting for exactly the same dish as they received. Very poor customer service. No questions asked, no offering. No please, thank you. Even when we were handed the bill to our table which we didn’t not ask for yet (despite the bad experience at least we wanted to finish our tea) the hostess came in with not a single word spoken, at least ‘there you go, thank you’ or ‘this is your bill’ or ‘maybe a coffee or desserts?’ - nothing.
