One of the best parks to spend time as family! We visited a park yesterday, which is a 40-minute drive from us but we didn'tt regret. It's a huge park with two playgrounds for kids, large areas for walking and picnicking, and a small lake. There were two ice cream trucks and a bounce castle, which made my little boy very happy. Across the road, there’s a small museum and a small bird area.
Additionally, there's a nice café offering a selection of cakes and food too. This part of the park also features a small stage with live music, a basketball court, a rose garden, a lovely church, and another large park area. My boy enjoyed feeding the squirrels in the park.
Parking is a bit tricky but we found a space on road next to park which is for free. The only downside was the toilets. The restrooms near the kids' playground were closed, and the only available facility in the other part of the park was small, old, and dirty. Read moreWhat used to be a really nice informative museum has over the years been allowed to fail. Watermarks and misinformation in the Unsigned Regimental museum. A sad response to the heroes of the county. One of the rooms has now been turned into a wedding venue as the local council seem to think all their properties should have one. The room is hot and lacking in air, and once full... Stifling. The staff have no knowledge of the Regiment and the plethora of boards which appear to be straight out of Capt Blackadders History of the Great War is often laughable. There used to be an informative and stunning medal room... This was downgraded into a sliding cabinet which was then locked as deemed unsafe, and then they have vanished. Poor information, poor displays and poor research... Well.. Virtually no...
Read moreA lovely local museum with a very interesting collection of items and exhibits! There are a few general displays about Northampton in the past, featuring plenty of local information and memorabilia, but the real gems are the more specialist exhibitions: a detailed interactive exhibit about the beautiful wood panelling that adorns one of the downstairs rooms, and an extensive display on Northampton's military history! The latter will certainly provide you with some gems of local information. As well as that, the building is impressive to simply walk around - the grand staircase is not to be sniffed at! Worth a quick visit if you are in the area or want to find out more about the...
