Independent cafe that's in a perfect spot, attracts plenty of tourists, and offers home-made cake. But it's a bit grubby and pricey, and could be better. Despite there being lots of staff, the floor is unswept and the tables are unwiped... and the dishcloth on the side is filthy. You'll pay ÂŁ6 for a cheddar sandwich, but add 50p more if you'd like pickle with that. One customer asked if they could have cream on their coffee and was abruptly told "no." Another customer returned from the toilet complaining about the filthy sink and no toilet paper. It feels like it could really use a deep clean, some tlc and perhaps some staff training.

Perfect day out with our grandson was made even more special by the beautiful food and lovely staff at Olivers. The clean counter was packed with fresh patisseries and we were pleased to see a selection of hot savoury food too because we were all hungry. The food was piping hot and I ordered egg salad/bacon on my jacket potato which was light and tasty and most importantly, the potato was not soggy and limp, but browned with a baked taste! The pecan slice was the best I have EVER eaten! Buttery shortbread and large, fresh pecans dripping in sauce! Extremely friendly staff - we will definitely go back.

The waitress who served us yesterday left our plates floating amidst the mess left by the previous customer. I genuinely thought she would return to tidy up the space, as it was in a dreadful state, but she disappeared for quite a while. In the meantime, I decided to fetch our own cutlery and clean up myself, as shown in the photo. The shop wasn’t busy at all—only one customer came in during our entire visit. When the three staff members eventually reappeared, they didn’t seem busy at all. Quiche and salad portion size was good, salad however had no dressing or seasoning.

Had a lovely cuppa coffee with a friend in Oliver's, access is great if your a walk in, but not so much if you have a pram or disability as there are 3 parts plus the court yard to sit in, lovely staff though and always happy and prepared to assist all and accommodate you as there are 3 entry points to the shop, and it's no bother to the staff to assist you, though the till and ordering part at the front of the shop has a step up into the 2nd and 3rd area on one level, and it can be quite busy, for an independent cafe its a great cafe but access for disabled/pram are through the 2nd middle door entrance or 3rd rear door entrance exit (on one level) Ordering direct via the counter your likely need to wave up assistance to do so, toilets yes, but I don't think they have disabled or mum and babe facilities, but the great thing is it's right next to a...

The food was really bad and the service was pretty awful, too. The hot drink came so long before the food, it was getting cold by the time the food arrived. The cheese and onion toastie was particularly poor - ÂŁ8 for a small bit of rubbery cheese and tiny pieces of onion, with no salad or garnish at all. The egg sandwich had a hair in it (noticed towards the end) and tasted sweet in parts. Another part of the order was forgotten about, and although staff said sorry, they gave the impression they didn't care at all. The staff looked bored and didn't pay any attention to customers. We didn't say anything as we felt it would be a waste of time, so...
