Would give it 0 star if I could. Went for a lunch, the pony tail waiter was rude and pushy, he wouldn’t let us order what we wanted but kind of talked through (forced)us to order lunch set sharing plates. I thought it must be so good that’s why he was so pushy ,so we gave it a try, turns out it was just all pre-made breaded cheap stuff. The sea bass tasted not fresh at all. it taste like it was the freezer for months or overnight food. we also ordered a beef steak from the main menu, the beef meat tasted so off!! it came without any decoration,no garnish. I couldn’t believe it.I felt even asked for a “ medium rare”became a joke. That poor quality of beef doesn’t deserve to be asked how it wanted to be cooked.😂The mashroom was super salty just like other dishes. The chef loves his salt doesn’t he. Honestly the worst experience I had in Sherborne. I felt so disappointed as we chose this restaurant after reading Google reviews. such an overrated place. I honestly don’t know where the good pictures and comments came from. My friend was too polite to say anything in person but after few weeks I still feel I should to post this to let people know how is it really like. BTW The pony tail waiter was so rude in the end again when he passes the bill to us he kind of just threw it on our table.

Italian Tapas – What a pleasant surprise! I’d never had Italian tapas before, so this was a unique and delightful experience for me. I love Italian food, and the small portions are perfect for those who enjoy trying a variety of dishes without getting too full. Location: Right across from Sherborne Abbey. If you sit by the window facing the street, you’ll have a lovely view of the Abbey while you dine. Food: Absolutely delicious overall! We ordered the Wild Garlic Gnocchi (highly recommended), the Meatballs (you can choose with or without spaghetti), and the Green Salad with lemon dressing—which my husband enjoyed so much he ordered it twice! The only disappointment was the Seafood Ragu. I couldn’t find any noticeable seafood in the dish, and it just tasted like plain pasta with tomato sauce. At £11, it didn’t feel worth the price. Service: Very friendly and helpful. If it’s your first time, the staff will explain how the ordering process works, which is a nice touch. Overall: We were very happy with both the food and the service, and would definitely come back to try more dishes!

The Plume of Feathers simply reeks of history. It was fitted out clean and modern in 2016, but nevertheless the exhalations of antiquity are palpable. This is a definite 'go-to' venue when visiting Sherborne. A Grade 2 listed listed building, dating back to 1590, the mullioned windows, exterior aspect and stone floor, shout 16th century. Directly opposite the Abbey (itself worth a visit to the town) The PofF has B&B rooms & a picturesque hamstone walled courtyard. In contrast to all this Olde Englande ambience, the keynote food servings are Italian Small Plates. Similar to Spanish tapas - best to order more than one and being on the Cask Marque Ale Trail, the beer to wash them down with, this review can aver without equivocation, is in the noblest of condition - well deserving the Accreditation awarded.

I took a friend for lunch. We ordered a few starter dishes which were great. Then had the meat balls and spaghetti.. extremely salty was the review from myself and my friend. An older woman came over I gave feedback she said.. Well the chef disagrees. I said it is not only me my friend also agrees .. in which her reply was.. well we have a team and we all disagree.. Then she waved her hand at me and said ill get the manager. Sarah then came and managed the situation very badly, negatively and quite frankly ruined our lunch. We asked immediately for the bill.. in which we left all our orders not touched and she not only charged us full price but also the cheek of adding service which was appalling. I'm extremely disappointed. And from not only being treat badly on a number of occasions.. as a local I'm forced to now never come back. After spending alot of money here and taking family and friends here.. I will not be recommending again. Which is very sad. But when you go out you expect nice service and friendly welcome not entitlement and rude staff. I hope Nick the owner takes these comments and no other customer has to get this same treatment. Also I will add a waitress also playing with her nose ring all the time and wearing it at work should not be...
