I’m not entirely sure if we had just the worst luck choosing this restaurant to have our first meal since lockdown but I can honestly say it was the worst experience I’ve ever had.
Myself and my partner got to this restaurant after my family member recommended it. They had said the food was amazing and fairly priced for what you get. So we booked a table and off we went. We got to the restaurant and told them how we have a table booked for 18:00, Saturday Night, and it took a good 5 minutes for us to be seated. Which is fine, we didn’t mind. Upon sitting down we noticed pods that looked a lot warmer but again we weren’t freezing and expected this sitting down so asked if there was a chance of sitting there instead. We were told no it’s already booked up. Later around 20 mins a new table were seated in the same location as us who asked about sitting in the pods and were happily escorted to the pod. We let this go over our heads as we were comfortable and didn’t want to be petty.
We proceeded to have our starter which we cannot fault at all. The waitressing staff were so smiley, helpful and happy.
The knock on of bad Incidents started, we were given our side dishes first without no cutlery. Before my partners steak came out they had gone cold, we asked for cutlery to be told ‘I have no idea why you haven’t been given any’. 5 minutes later I got my lobster. So we were like okay, let’s just say it was a hiccup. But my partners fillet steak was so fatty and she had about a quarter of a piece that was meat, the rest fatty. We don’t like making a fuss but it was ridiculous so I informed a waitress. She came back to say that’s how the meat is. My partner said to take it away as it’s not edible. The waitress came back and informed us the chef had given us ribeye instead of fillet. Which concerned us With the price difference and if we hadn’t have known what steak differences are! She said she’d get the fillet as soon as possible. At this point I’ve eaten my first lobster and I’m onto the second. As I open the second lobster a black gelatine substance falls out. The whole inside is green and black. Absolutely thankful that it wasnt the first one I ate otherwise I would have been completely off my food. I informed the waitress and everyone of them, (spoke to them throughout the night about it) had said they’ve never seen it before. The manager came over to say it was just a bad lobster and wasn’t there fault. These things happen. Which they do. I get that, we understand that. But I’m down a lobster and my partners fillet steak half an hour after sending back hasn’t come out. She took my plate away and asked if my partner wanted the steak takeaway instead. We then had a look at what could cause the lobster to be like that and the only answer was undercooked. So we called over the manager just to inform that they should watch out for that as it could lead to food poisoning. She informed us her boss/brother/chef has cooked plenty of lobsters before, he knows how to cook lobster. At this point I just couldn’t reason with her. I explained we’re not complaining because one thing has happened but several things have happened and we feel like the table who isn’t being looked after. It wasn't awfully busy and Id understand if it was. But after numerous discussions on the end bill we left. Again with our takeaway boxes of dessert, peppercorn sauce and steak.
Maybe it was a bad day but we couldn’t wait to try this place and it was just a circus. Again the waitressing staff were amazing and understood what we said. We weren’t complaining for the sake of it. We were completely out of our comfort zones. Just hope this doesn’t happen to...
Read moreI booked here for Father’s Day and as we had over 8 people I was called to take a deposit and send our pre order so easier on the day. I got a call few days before to ask if we could come 15 mins later than booked so they have time to set the tables
On arrival, the table wasn’t ready and was told to wait outside so they can put plates and cutlery on it. After 15 mins we went back in to see if it was ready to find that the table was pushed together with another but no plates or cutlery placed then was told to take a seat anyway.
Once seated we had to wait 15mins before having to call a waiter over to order drinks. Then a further 10mins to say when will they bring out our pre ordered starters. When asked they replied we will ask the chefs to start it?!
We had to continuously throughout the whole meal try to grab a waiter to order drinks with no glasses being collected from our table. We had a collection going on by the end of the meal. The young guy was nice and trying but service needs to be quicker or more staff if they struggle on busy days.
After our starters we had to wait 1 hour for the main meals to arrived which my 3 year old just about managed to sit and wait for.
As we preordered we thought it would’ve been prepared already and 1 main meal was still forgotten.
After our mains we had to continuously ask for drinks and to even order desserts we ended up having to go up to the front desk to order them with the bill at the same time as by this time we have been waiting and in the restaurant for 3 1/2 hours.
When asked to remove the service charge as we have had to do the service ourselves. The ‘manager’ replied ‘why? Because of 1 lamb skewer?’ Which was not the case and didn’t seem to care about the poor service.
It’s a shame as the food itself is lovely but the customer service trumps food in this case and lets the whole restaurant down. If they were on their customer service and service times it will be a much...
Read moreLast night my family dined at Os'Camacheiros to celebrate my wife and daughters birthday. This was not our first visit. We have also recommended it highly to friends and family. Last night however I couldn't have been more disappointed. There were a few things I would have been happy to let go like the one dirty fork on our table and the starters that were not ours ( which we tried before realising and they were then given to their correct table instead of being disposed of) but I am struggling to swallow the terrible service. We were at our table for three hours we had two courses because time in between courses was far too long. We understand food being cooked to order and are happy to wait for great food usually but this was much longer than normal. At no point was our wait addressed or acknowledged, we waited for 40 minutes with a desert menu and tried fruitlessly multiple times to get the attention of the waiting staff. The couple on the table next to us were suffering the same situation. When someone finally arrived we asked for the bill, we waited a further 15-20 minutes until approaching another member of staff as by this point we were sick of waiting around. They then said the bill had been delayed due to them making us birthday cocktails. I'm sure they would have been lovely but when we had asked for the bill instead of dessert I had explained we no longer wanted to order because we had waited long enough and just wanted to leave. We spent just over £180 (we paid £40 deposit which was not deducted from the bill until after almost paying the full amount) and ordered two starters four mains and one drink each, three of these were soft drinks. I am happy to pay for a good meal but with a compulsory 12.5 percent service charge I am really upset with the service, we were not even offered drinks during our time after our initial order. From previous visits this is not what we expected at all, very...
