Went here based on reviews. Visiting area, so paid for Uber etc. The welcome was non existent, barely any lights on at 6pm on Saturday night. Waited for anyone to come out of kitchen for about 5 minutes ..maybe a bell notification on the door would help. It's basically a takeaway place. Very cold, no heating, had to put out coats back on. No atmosphere at all, could do with some background music. A couple who came in left very quickly, I suppose because they never got served quickly enough !! The toilet for an Indian restaurant was very spacious, it's a shame they have not maintained it after their investment. No toilet roll.....despite all of the above, the food served was excellent and value for money. Don't forget to take your own alcohol.

Absolutely fantastic meal at Panahar on a works do. I ordered the chicken pathia which was just awesome. Their rice and naans were also great and the customer service was top. Cheers guys!

We have used Panahar a few times in the past without issue however our recent order was late, incorrect and missing items.

We placed an order at 5:30 which arrived at about 7:20, fair enough the weather recently has been awful. The order was wrong, with the three chicken biriyani we ordered being sent as lamb by mistake. The order was also pretty cold and missing 3 naan and 3 onion bhaji.

When we contacted the restaurant we were told they would speak to the driver and get back to us. We got a call back about 7:30 from a very friendly staff member who explained the driver had given the missing items to another customer by mistake and replacements would be sent out in 5mins. At 8:00 the replacements arrived and contained 3 naan and 2 onion bhaji. Still missing 1 onion bhaji but by this point we were a bit fed up and didn’t bother to complain.

Why after all these issues is the review still 3stars? Because the food was still excellent and the each member of staff spoken to was friendly, polite and apologetic.

I would still recommend Panahar, the food is that good, but maybe check your order...

I'm always on the lookout for a mango curry. I like korma but it gets boring. It's rare to find a mild curry with mango. While looking for Indian restaurants near Henbury I came across Panahar. An absolute hidden gem that's been where it is for many years, I've just never thought about looking at their menu. OMG they had Shahi on the menu which is their Mango curry. You would not believe how excited I was. I had the lamb. Well it was absolutely beautiful. I had chicken Tikka for starters which was the best I had ever had. My husband said his Chicken Tikka Masala Madras Hot was beautiful also. Definitely our favourite Indian takeaway...
