A generous 2 stars from me on this occasion. I have been to the Air balloon a few times and I largely enjoyed my food and drinks. On this occasion of the four meals ordered 2 were of an acceptable standard. The shambles started when the waiter arrived declaring the meal was hot and proceeded to miss the table and pour the food over the lap of my sons girlfriend 🙈 (apparently not the first time he has done this) he apologised and said he would clear the mess up, leaving my son and his girlfriend sat surrounded by chicken chips and bbq sauce. I asked if we could move tables and this was agreed.
Then my wife's food arrived (chicken on a skewer) my wife was instantly able to pick up the skewer as it was that cold. My sons girlfriend's food arrived it was a chicken and bacon salad, the chicken was clearly undercooked and the chipson the side were cold. I had the signature burger which arrived with a soggy bun although, the rest of the plate was nice. Finally my sons food arrived he had chicken strips etc this time it made it to the table in one piece and he said it was actually very good.
I did complain at the time and to be fair the lady who took my complaint could not apologise enough and refunded the meal that went over my sons girlfriend's lap and the other 2 meals which were cold and undercooked. My wife did say the food was actually prepared to a very good standard and had it been hot she is sure it would have been delicious.
2 stars for the food 5 stars for the customer service. As I have said before I have been a few times and have never complained before as the food and drink were perfectly acceptable for pub grub. So will I go back? YES you cant let one bad experience over cloud your opinion of a place. Let's just hope my next visit is more enjoyable.

Read moreWe went to the air balloon around 6:30pm on the 23rd of September and when we got there asked if the South Africa Vs Ireland rugby match was playing which kicked off at 8:00pm that night and we were assured that it did by the bar staff and sat next to the TV that we were told was playing the match. One of our group was disabled and therefore we asked before we sat down and had a ordered and food or drink to ensure that we would be able to watch the game, if not we would’ve gone to another pub to be able to watch the rugby without having to make another journey; which without a taxi whole not have been possible for the disabled member of our party. We then ordered drinks and a meal and just before 8pm, when we expected them to change over to the channel to show the rugby, we again questioned if they were going to show the rugby and were informed that someone wanted to watch the football so they couldn’t play the rugby on one of their many TVs. We did complain however they said they could not do anything. We ended up at another pub which was showing the rugby and was very accommodating however this could have been avoided had the manager spoken to us about the rugby not being played especially as it states online that it was going to show the rugby. It made us feel very unwelcome and put the disabled member of our party in a very difficult position as they could not easily move around. I was incredibly disappointed with the service, and although the bar staff were very helpful and apologised the manager was incredibly rude and unapologetic.
following on from the response, looking at the poster on the wall how can you be showing the rugby and the football on at the same time when the matches clash.
the poster in the pub states that you will be showing both matches tomorrow? how will you amend this issue...
Read morePiss poor service! Went here to my nephews 5th birthday. Out of a table of 9 they came and checked our order 3 times yet still proceeded to get it wrong. Wrong fries applied to 2 dishes, gravy on sausage and mash was lumpy and had a skin on. I ordered a steak got brought out the wrong 1. I pointed this out after I'd cut an onion ring in half, I then seen that same steak with the onion ring in half offered to 5 other tables. After being told my order was wrong and therefore needed recooking i proceeded to wait for half hour (in which time i observed the room and seen many dishes getting sent back for being wrong) after asking several times what was happening with my food and just kept being told "5 minutes" I was now getting fed up. The rest of my family had all eaten there meals yet I still had nothing. When I confronted the manager I was told there was nothing he could do except give me a free snack. I refused I didn't want a snack I wanted my meal! And i now wanted it for free as the rest of my family had finished eating. After some arguing with what I consider a very rude manager I told him to screw the steak and give me my money back, he did so but after telling me my meal was ready but had thrown in the bin (i dont personally believe this after seeing my first steak get offered to 5 other people). If it was ready why didn't it get brought out to me instead of a 10 minute argument? And isn't the customer always right? So instead of giving me my free meal and keeping a customer happy he refunded my money and threw the meal in the bin. Will not b returning that's for sure. Oh and and our table was...
