Paradise@BarterBooks — Restaurant in England

Great wee cafe at the back of the amazing Barter bookshop. We stopped for ice cream before leaving and it did not disappoint. The cakes and especially the shortbread looked amazing and you can get the usual drinks as well. We went to sit outside, as it was a nice day - the seats are just low benches but better than nothing on a nice day. There is plenty seating indoors too if you want more comfort. There is parking outside for the bookshop, but it is very tight - not for those who have difficulty...

Awful customer service. After walking quite a way in the heat of the hottest day of the year to visit ice cream parlour I was stood, next in queue, for at least 7 minutes while one girl topped up the ice cream tubs and the other served one customer with coffee, after passing young couple ilk shakes. Not one acknowledgment at all. A sorry to keep you waiting would have been nice but totally ignored! In the end I had to leave empty handed. A looked forward experience ruined by...

Awesome... Five stars all the way... my grandaughter and I just finished a tasting...here are our faves....honeycomb ice is good...cannot really taste the smalll cruchy honeycomb.... so 7/10..... Rocky Road ...the base ice tasted very nice...something in there so 8/10....the Strawberry ice cream was gorgeous, you could taste the real strawberries, a great 9/10....and finally our vanilla, so rich and choc full of real vanilla .... awesome and 10/10....weI cannot wait...
