A surprisingly nice place to eat with good attention to detail from its environment, decor , staff to menu.
We were looking for the pier restaurant but thought this was it and rather than wander looking for it we decided to enquire about the menu. It looked pretty good but the only reason why it wasn’t a five star review was that it didn’t do a more kiddy menu for young ones. Macaroni and cheese or mussels isn’t the norm so probably for older kids. We usually take our own kids food to most places anyway.
It was nice and spacious able to accommodate a double buggy. The staff were really attentive and smiley plus interacted well.
We had the mussels which were the best I have tasted for years. My stomach usually lets me know within seconds of poor quality seafood. It felt so satisfied. The sauce was so so creamy and rich. A great portion to share. The tempura prawns were so tender too with a light batter which melted in the mouth.
The fries were the best I have tasted for years too and a great portion size as the kids had to fight us off. Really crisp and thin.
All in all great value for the quality. Will definitely go there again as they have got a lot of...
Read moreCame here with the missus after a day out on the railway. Looked up some local restaurants and as we both like sea food we gave it a go.
We were seated in the outside terrace with views over the harbour and the cliff's which was just a wonderful setting. I had the fish soup to start which was wonderful savoury and delicious, lovey chunks of cod and salmon, it hit the spot.
For mains we both had large mussels which were served with a garlic, cream and white wine sauce, absolutely flawless. It was accompanied with fresh baked chiabatta which was just perfect for dunking in the wonderful sauce.
The service was frankly excellent, the girls out the front were attentive and speedy. The food came out quick and piping hot, the portions were very generous and the food devine.
The best part of all was the shock of the bill which was incredibly reasonable. Two courses for two people with drinks for under £60. With the quality of the food I just think this is amazing.
Will be coming again when next in the area. If you like delicious fresh seafood at a good price GIVE...
Read moreAmazing food, impeccable service and lovely ambience. We were visiting Swanage for couple of days and wanted to have seafood. Went for a dinner there and loved it! Food was amazing! We had oysters, fish soup and mussels with fries and bread as sides. Everything was delicious. Even fries were the best we ever had! We loved it so much that we went back for dinner the next day too and tried their trio dish (smoked salmon, crab and prawns). Once again fantastic food The owner and chef Peter is lovely and friendly. Their waiters (Harry, Molly and Sydney) were very nice and helpful. It is a family run restaurant and it is run with loving and...
