The Dining Room — Restaurant in England

From the moment we walked through the door, the staff were attentive and considerate. After taking our coats, we were lead upstairs to enjoy a drink, and complimentary canapés. Soon after the drinks arrived we were handed the menu and our order was taken for starters and mains. At this point we mentioned one of our party had an allergy to alcohol. The hostess was quick to explain all of the menu items that contained alcohol and seemed genuinely concerned that this was an issue to us. Shortly after our orders were taken, we were taken to our table........and the first example of what was in store, fresh bread basket. The best meal I’ve had for many a year. Complimentary homemade canapés, and bread delicious. The piri piri chicken was succulent and so tasty. Although pretty full I couldn’t leave without finding out if the desserts matched the mains, well the creme brûlée most certainly did and hubby tells me so did the rhubarb crumble with liquorice ice cream. A bit of a hidden gem in Boroughbridge, the Dining Room offers a menu to suite most tastes and appetites. The restaurant feels light and airey, the staff are welcoming and ready to accept dietary requirements.

The food is cooked to order and in our case, arrived in good order and piping hot...not the salad! The upstairs bar contains an eclectic mix of items and offers a nice waiting area should you need to wait for a table.

Overall, excellent food, good prices, worth...
