Rustic old pub in the rustic old town of Ledbury. Justifiably on the Cask Marque Ale Trail, the pints of Mad Goose being in superb condition. This place is really well patronised, groups, couples meeting and greeting in the typical British pub fashion - that is really unique to Britain. Even in the post colonial Anglo-saxon speaking world, rarely are pubs like this emulated. Even if you arrived alone, wanting your own company but seeking diversion, you would fine it here - the walls are covered with interesting items. Rarely though, this is the case - a solo arrival would soon find himself/herself engaged in convivial discourse. This is a brilliant establishment worth a visit for a drink, a meal, or just for company.

The Prince of Wales serves a wide range of beers, including both local and national ales. It also has a good selection of wines, spirits, and soft drinks. The pub offers a full food menu, which includes traditional pub fare such as fish and chips, steak and ale pie, and Sunday roast. The Prince of Wales is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink or two. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is always lively. The pub is also a great place to enjoy a meal, and the food is always of good quality.

Quirky olde world pub up the famous Ledbury street We popped in for lunch on the 29 Dec 2019 It was busy but we managed to find a table and ordered a ham sandwich with chips (£7.85)and a ploughman’s lunch (£6.95) The cheese on the ploughman’s was huge and so thick - see photos Great value for money

First the good news. There is a terrific selection of beers, lagers and ciders in this historic old pub in beautiful Church street. So maybe I was just unlucky.

It was about 4.00 pm and I fancied a pint or two after an game of golf at Kington, just over an hour away. As I was staying in Ledbury for the week I went in and had two pints of excellent cider tyhat I decided to have sitting in the small garden to the side of the pub.

A man there was telling a member of staff just how drunk he had got on his birthday. Then another man came in who started talking about how he takes a drink to the local graveyard and talks to the tombstones. He was clearly drunk and pretty foul mothed. But he was welcomed like an old friend.

Clearly intruding on a private conversation in a vbery small area I finishjed my cider and left not to return. If this is the clientele that goes in regularly I fear for the pub's future unless it wants to appeal to the...

Passed through Ledbury on our way back home from Hay on Wye to Leicester. Found this place from a recommendation by a local in another pub (the particular pub had stopped serving food as it was a Sunday). Luckily the Prince of Wales serves food from 12 until late, so for a Sunday we were initially pleased with just that as it was 6pm. Walked through the door and instantly loved the place. A real traditional cosy pub that is clearly loved by the locals. Atmosphere was spot on. After a bit of helpful consultation with the friendly pub staff, we ordered fish and chips and the vegan pie from the specials board. Absolutely banging food! Saved room for dessert, warm choc fudge cake and sticky ginger pudding! Delicious. What a find this place is. If you’re passing through or visiting town, take yourself here for a really traditional and excellent experience. Hope our paths cross again some...

Visited here today with my wife and in-laws. There was a good atmosphere, it was busy and plenty of people eating. I went to order food but there was a waiting time of half an hour. Unfortunately, we didn't have that long left on our car park ticket, so had to leave. Shame, because the food looked real good.

So why a five star review?

We didn't know this, but my father in law had left his camera behind. Ten minutes later, we were sat in the High Street and a guy came along and told us that the camera was in the pub waiting for us. This guy had come out and searched for us in a mobility scooter.

Surely these customers are the most honest in the country!

We will return one day (with enough time on the car park ticket) to properly enjoy the good food...
