We went on a Sunday evening & had booked ahead but we’re left waiting for around 5 minutes whilst servers looked at us & continued walking into the kitchen. I had to walk into the dining area eventually. It wasn’t too busy, the restaurant had a 2/3 small tables seated & a big party upstairs. We were seated at the table at the bottom of the stairs so got all the noise from the party upstairs, kids up & down playing on the stairs & then all walking past us to leave whilst we ate. The staff were shutting everything down & the cutlery tray was just next door to where we sat & it was very noisy as they put the clean stuff away. It was generally a hard evening to have a conversation with friends over dinner. The waitress spilled a glass of water all down my left side & leg & brought me a tea towel to dry my jeans, which it didn’t. I did get a replacement water but it was warm so had to ask for ice. Tbh when I’ve worked in restaurants and made a mistake like that I would’ve comped more than a water. The food was ok, but definitely overpriced. Whitebait was rock hard & fish needed the sauce. Really wasn’t worth the amount we spent.

An Italian restaurant from where I sat could have been any restaurant, it may be corny, but no Italian pictures or Italian music playing in the background, these things make a difference. Customer service very poor. To be offered a bottle of wine, for it to arrive with no wine glasses, and for the bottle to be opened out of sight of dining guests and then not be offered a taste or nose on the liquid is poor form and smacks of being a down market cafe as opposed to decent restaurant. To be asked for my order without having seen sight of a menu or wine list is very poor form. Lack of communication between staff members I presume. Not to be offered table water again poor form. Overall lacking in service and atmosphere. Suggest employing mature team members as opposed to too many girls. Maybe some Italian greetings or farewells would make it a little more Italian and not just a bland almost motor way cafe style.

We visited this establishment on Friday for a family celebration, a table of six. The Food at The Olive Tree is amazing. What lèt down our dining experience was the slow service. We waited ages for our mains, which wasn't the fault of the waiters, but more likely the kitchen. We then had to wait for our dessert order to be taken. We did have to ask for more drinks, cutlery to be replenished, and condiments. At the end of the evening, we still had the original glasses on the table from our first round. With a lot of restaurants / cafes now, it seems recruiting waiters is the problem, or at least keeping them is, since covid. This may be a one-off event, (fingers crossed) and I can ensure you we will be back, as we've eaten here many times in the past, because of the quality of the food and service. Please don't let our one-off experience put you off, go book, and enjoy amazing food.

Came here for a birthday celebration and the visit was OK, food was good, but was let down by the service. Throughout the meal service was either too in your face, or just not there. Had hardly opened the menu's before we were being asked if we were ready to order, then starter's arrived in 4 groups ( there were 5 of us ), the person who ordered pasta was not offered cheese with the starter portion, but later a main course pasta eater was. We'd barely finished our main course before the table was cleared, and my wife's drink which was not finished was grabbed in the rush to clear the table, despite my wife being clear the drink was not finished the waitress insisted on removing it as she had 'put her fingers in the glass'. It took 5 minutes and then a glass of water was produced, when my wife advised that actually the drink that had been cleared was elderflower the response was 'oh' and we never saw that waitress again. It took a log time to attract someone to give us the bill, and it was clear that the how was your meal question was a box ticking exercise as there was no pick up on the tone of voice of the 'It was OK' response. Should have been a 4 star review but the issues brought it...

We decided to visit the olive tree restaurant tonight despite our awful, disgraceful experience two years ago. This evening was a disgrace, the starters arrive my wife's calamari was like an elastic band and tasted about the same. The main course we both ordered beef stroganoff, part of it came ten minutes later the remainder of the mains arrived. The first part of the main was cold making it very difficult to stomach. We ate about half and left the rest refusing a suite that was most probably equally disgusting. The meat was tasteless, tough . We did not bother complain, we should have known better after our previous experience

We made a speedy exit from this appalling excuse for a restaurant.

A tescos beef stroganoff was far better than this over priced offering.

We will certainly never enter that establishment again and non of my friends will either.

To fellow friends of Ledbury, let's start a petition to uncover this restaurant for what it is. An establishment that does not care about customers. Only interested in raking money in at any cost

So fellow good honest citizens KEEP AWAY FROM THIS DISMAL PLACE LETS TELL EVERYONE...
