Stopped off in the seven stars for lunch today. Nice selection of local ales, there is a lunch menu containing sandwiches as well as the full menu. They had gluten free bread so were able to do a sandwich for my wife. I had the ploughman's, both very good and the service was excellent. Dog friendly, he got a big treat off the lady behind the bar when we arrived, would certainly go back for lunch again or dinner in the evening.

Great lunch. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food is very tasty. The burger seems homemade (it does not have the processed feel that many have) and was delicious. The beer was good (Ledbury Real Ale). We also had a dessert to share - chocolate brownie. Very nice!

I wanted to be the first person to not comment about the clock - but I can't do it. The room is lovely, nicely kitted out and definitely on a slope. The staff was friendly on check in. Then it goes downhill from there - The clock does go off every hour - but it didn't at 11 and 12 or 1 - but then started going of softer every 15 minutes. Then reverted back to hourly - if it hadn't been for the change, I might not have noticed. It is quite loud as there is single-paned glass - so if a light sleeper this isn't the place for you. Now to the big problem - at 3:45am there was a loud bang of an outside door slamming - then you realise that there is no staff on site - it's just you and whoever else has booked a room - so is a bad person coming up to rob you? Who knows? Who are you going to call? The police? I thought I would wait until they tried something - but nothing happened. Then at 4:15am they get a produce/food delivery - how do I know? Very loud truck with squeaky doors and ramp. The driver wasn't on purpose trying to make a lot of noise - but definitely waaay loud. Then he takes it through the side passage - which is cobbled and it makes an almighty ruckus. Then back again 20 minutes later and then the truck slamming. I watched it all out of my window as I couldn't sleep for the racket. I called after I checked out to let them know - they said they knew and were very unhelpful and not even apologetic. So, if you like getting up at 4:15am - this is the place for you! No one to talk to at check out - I looked. Ended up going back up to my room and just leaving the keys in. Definitely not user friendly. Again, lovely room - you just won't be sleeping...

Avoid this cesspit like the plague. The sour faced moron in charge of service couldn't even figure out what a blond beer was and seemed delighted in loudly proclaiming she doesn't do beers. Er perhaps you are in the wrong business then dipsh*t! The customer skills represented by the server here make Basil Fawlty look like he's been trained in a Michelin star restaurant. As experienced by the other reviewer below the thin skinned server blew her top when I made the massive mistake of not having heard her snarling about getting the meal selection off the badly scawled writing on the blackboard in the bar. After noting that it wasn't going so well I was declared rude and being difficult and better yet she ranted "you are annoying me" and I want you to leave. I did so promptly as I suspect further dissent may have resulted in being glassed.

So if you fancy a first hand view of how not to do custoner service and the wilful destruction of a business hop on down to the Severn or in terms of rating no stars. The owner as a matter of urgency needa to reassign this server to amore suitable role such as scrubbing the toilets with no possibility of getting near customers.

Disgraceful performance which lets the entire town down. This was my first visit to Bromyard and I won't be back or recommending it to...

I can't comment on the rooms as I have never used them, but I am a ledbury local and have been to this establishment many times with no issue. However, on my most recent visit here, I was yelled at by a member of staff. I was there with my husband and friends, we were all laughing and having a good time on a busy Saturday night when one of the bar staff came over to us, slammed their hand down on the table and screamed at me to "keep the noise down, we have other patrons". I was shocked by this as it seemed to come from nowhere. We hadn't been asked to be quiet prior to this interaction, and I wasn't even drinking or being rowdy. If I was being too loud, there is definitely a more appropriate and polite way to ask, especially because I was another paying patron. No one at my table felt we were being loud, and it even startled the tables next to us. This was incredibly humiliating and belittling. This staff member clearly needs training on how to speak to customers. Because of this experience, I have not been back, and I don't think I particularly want to go...
