I booked to come here since a lot of other pubs in the area stopped serving food at 7pm. I'm Autistic and I get anxious around new places.
I booked the table through Facebook messenger. The person I spoke to was really patient, clear and understanding.
Upon arrival at Priory, the same person I'd been talking to through messenger, noticed I was a bit nervous. She reassured me immediately, explained what to do and showed me my table to relax and calm myself. This was about an hour prior to our booked time. I had just come to check it out hoping it would lessen the challenge.
The beer and soft drinks selection was vast and varied. Prices were either cheap or reasonable. Shaun was very comical and joked with everyone. It made me feel more at ease. He went through the beers with me patiently whilst I chose.
The menu has lots of great choices on it at once again, cheap or reasonable prices.
I got the burger and chips. It was the best burger I've had. The bacon had no fat on it and the bun was a proper seeded on. The jam sponge tasted fresh, hot and a good portion.
Disability awareness and accessibility: The staff seemed knowledgeable about accommodating those with additional needs and helping me feel comfortable. Priory us accessible to those with mobility difficulties and has a accessible toilet.
I will definitely be returning when I'm in the area again. Would 💯 recommend. If you need any reassurance or adjustments, message the Facebook page and they'll help you the...
Read moreThe inside of Priory and the beer gardens was lovely. Table clean and chairs very comfy with flat screen tvs and surround sound. However service was poor and food was even worse. At the time of ordering we was told it was a 45min wait but in total we waited 1hr and 30mins which meant some ate alone. Ordered an 8oz aged rump steak and recieved what looked like a pork steak very aneamic. Also ordered a veggie burger which was the new cauliflower, kale and cheddar cheese one, to be served a quorn burger with a very hard burger bun (microwaved then placed in an oven). I asked to speak to the manager to discuss the poor quality of food but rather than listen he spoke over me and then said he would refund. I think if he had listened he could of relayed it to the kitchen and then improved on it.... Updated to add; found out that a family member who ate here was awoken at 2am this morning with sickness and diarrhoea he had ordered a steak and ale pie but was told they didn't have any and decided to try the mushroom pie with poor...
Read moreParty of us went today. Food was very good. I didn’t know you had to give them your car reg number or face a fine. When I found out later that day I rang to give them my reg. The lady said I couldn’t but had to take my ticket in when I got it!! I have never heard of this happening in a pub car park. I will not be paying a penny! It’s disgusting
2nd message Thank you for your reply. When I rang I was told to take my ticket in and it would be sorted. A friend was told the same. She took her ticket in and was told there’s nothing you can do! I was helping an elderly disabled lady into the pub and we sat straight down. I did not see any signs at all about the parking. If a fine is relevant to me I will pay it. We have used the pub for many years. How are people supposed to know about this new system? It’s always been such a lovely pub with great food. When people have always used the car park they don’t expect the rules to suddenly...
